The island is an autonomous territory of Denmark, a longtime U.S. ally and a founding NATO member. Beyond the country’s strategic location in the Arctic and its rich resources, Kirk said, “there is this other component. It makes America dream again, that we’re not just this sad, low-testosterone, beta male slouching in our chair, allowing the world to run over us.” sounds a lot like the Nazis… living space! 1

(So do Arizona and New Mexico) You are so proud of your stupidity, Colorado has had 1.5 million acres burn in the past 22 years combined. California had 2.5 in 2021 alone and 1.5 last year alone. Fires will happen, but how we prep for them changed everything, in general CO is much better run that CA. 4 hours ago, Andy1 said: More can always be done. More should be done. The cost to live in high risk areas like fire prone environments or coastal hurricane vulnerable areas should go up. The rest of society shouldn’t have to fund the insurance and recovery for these types of events. If only there were scientists who could have told us that these types of events would be more likely to happen…. hmmm. Insurance companies have been telling California politicians for decades to cull the forest but they refuse, do you actually believe that global warming is centered over California?

California is 1.5 times larger than Colorado, and a much larger percentage of Colorado is devoted to short grass prairie or irrigated farmland. You are so proud of your ignorance. But of course the main issue isn't forest fires or brush fires; it's development of residential land in areas prone to forest/brush fires. The Palisades fire would be a minor forest fire if it had occurred farther east into the Santa Monica mountains, where there is little development. Dampen the forests! 1

You’re advocating for a system where people that contribute to a better society through taxation should not benefit from their contribution? I really don’t understand this thought process. To boot, oftentimes, the issue with based on actuarial projections, it’s based on a regulatory environment that limits what can be charged to cover what’s being covered. We see this over and over with government regulation, especially in places like California, Florida and NY. You speak of science, what about math?
The Frankish Reich Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago What a wonderful thing for the United States to do, to let Denmark off the hook and to take on a basket case like Greenland. $17,500 per Greenland resident last year. Instead of buying or "taking over" Greenland, why not fund their independence (from Denmark) movement, and then promise to double the subsidy if they do it and allow us to do whatever it is Trump contemplates doing with that vast wasteland? NOTE: Greenland's economic output is just a little lower than microstate Andorra's.

Forest cleaning is helpful in forests. I don’t see forests in these videos if the fires. These are suburban areas. The problem is communities and developers have promoted housing developments in fire prone areas with poor planning and infrastructure to deal with events like this. Evacuation routes are insufficient, water resources are insufficient, building codes are insufficient, zoning codes are poor. Communities may have been built in the 50s during a different climate. Climate is changing and society also needs to change ir the problem will repeat. There is no easy answer to stop fire hurricanes. 1

The following are statements by bitter, egotistical old men who act like children: "Yeah, you won, but only because I didn't run." "You cheated, so I should be declared the winner."
