https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2025/01/07/trump-expansion-greenland-gulf-of-mexico/

Speaking for roughly 70 minutes in a meandering news conference from his Mar-a-Lago Club in Florida, Trump emphasized his ambitions for territorial expansion, however implausible. He said the United States should acquire Greenland, threatened to retake the Panama Canal and mused about using “economic force” to make Canada the 51st American state — underscoring his willingness to feud with allies and make sweeping threats. He said he would change the name of the Gulf of Mexico to the “Gulf of America.”

He's a *****en clown. The whole world is laughing at him and the USA.

The world was laughing at Biden who couldn't put together a speech like that if he tried.

This is not bonkers, or hook line and sinker joke....as a Canadian I consider this a declaration of war. This is Putin style.

The future President of our closest friend has declared war.

No other way to take this.

If you heard China say the same thing about you country, you would say the same thing.

Donnie dreams of having and using power like Putin does. We are about to discover how much the republicans agree with this type of anti democracy governing.

Trudeau and members of his party are responding by intentionally addressing Americans with incorrect pronouns.

The “51st state” comment was disrespectful to be certain, though in context of Trudeaus weakened state it was sort of funny.  Addressing economic imbalance to the extent it occurs I have less of an issue with.

That said, in the world of international politics, it’s hard to figure out what declarations of “acts of war” really mean from administration to administration.  It’s not that long ago a boatload of cash was shipped on a cargo plane to a country absolutely and vocally determined to destroy our nation—-and folks like Tibs were all for the party sending it.

All bull####. Deflect, confuse, muddy the waters. The maga idiot way.

Let's threaten war with a Nato ally, it's justifyable because the other party is full of *****. When is one of the parties going to act like the adult in the room? We know the answer, never. Dems were voted out for being #######s, never being held accountable by those that voted for them. Re enter Trump, people already making excuses for him predictably. Fast forward 4 years when Republicans are voted out, dems come back in and continue business as usual. Wash rinse and repeat.

The US has never shipped a free dollar to Canada. It is all business. US companies doing business. Buying goods,  selling goods, the US canceling pipelines in mid production for oil so they buy from the mid east and Venezuela,  US companies taking profits to the US like Costco, Ford, GM  US steel, mining companies, paper companies, Kelloggs, American Express  Visa, wine, clothing, retail, restaurant chains,  etc etc.

A Euro type zone is one thing...but that is not what he said.

This is hilarious,  but today not funny.

When Putin...oh I mean trump threatens Canada the sense of humoUr goes.

Seemingly trump has managed to surpass Trudeau as the most hated man in the world if you are Canadian.
