Yeah, wouldn't want anyone to be happy watching good football. Unhappiness makes much more sense and stands as a clearly superior way to live your life.

Content? No. Completely satisfied? No. There's more we'd like.

But happy? Um, YEAH!!!

We could be the Patriots. Or the Giants. Or the Jaguars, who get to watch Trevor Lawrence.

I was clearly referring to fans who are completely content to watch them win a wild card every year and don't view winning a SB with a once-in-a-lifetime talent as being terribly necessary. Giants and Patriots fans have seen their teams win multiple SBs, by the way.

That may be the case for some…  I’d just say, that crowd is happier and more fun to be around in general lol.

My point was only how sad it is to watch fans not be able to truly enjoy the Josh Allen era because of expectations.

No it wasn't, nice try at recovery though.

I am pretty new here... I love this board. What has become apparent to me is that despite the fact people have different view points and sometimes argue and bicker there is one consistent (minus the trolls) everyone here wants the Bills to win and desperately wants a title before they die lol just 1. I dont look at those that root root root for the hometeam and stick up for them at all costs poorly nor do I look at those that always find something wrong. We all express our feelings and love of the team in our own way. I wouldn't not want those who always have something negative to say not to celebrate with us nor do I think it's proper to go after the "we are the best ever people" with I told you so when we lose (and all those in between) . To me it's emotion and emotion and passion is what makes Bills Mafia special. Not many fan bases care so intensely about their team that they let it effect them this emotionally maybe they are the smart ones I don't know.... but it makes us us... I know this agree with me disagree with me find me annoying or interesting ... tell me about it or not I don't care... but I will never believe that any of you care less than me however you choose to express it. And will happily celebrate with any of you if and when we all get our dream.

Now let's go beat Denver.

Well said.  I grew up with my dad who tended to be somewhat negative about the Bills and a mother who would root for them to the bitter end.

Maybe that's why I TRY to be somewhere in the middle.

My dad passed away some years ago, but my 92-year-old mother never misses a game and still has hope.

Last thing she said Sunday was, "that Mahomes has won enough.....it's our turn this year".

She also won $25 on the 1st quarter squares from her senior community!

I love this it was the opposite in my house my Mom was the naysayer and Dad the optimist that's why I think I am in the middle myself but they both were passionate hanging on every play. My house was the gathering place for friends and cousins to watch the game like 8 of us lying on the floor yelling and screaming thanks for sharing your memory too

We are blessed with the Bills and the run of the McBeane administration. And yet, with the arrival of the playoffs, a particular class of Bills fan has been stirred into action...but not due to excitement. They are the naysayers who find fault, often irrationally so, with the team. It's actually a defense mechanism that, in a way, prepares such naysayers to emotionally handle the eventual playoff loss they're certain of.

I feel for these folks...we all love our Bills. The fanbase even has a name: "Bills Mafia".  But the naysayers predate Bills Mafia and need their own special classification:

DEBBIE Downers. Many are familiar with this this term, but few know that is an acronym: Drought Encrusted Buffalo Bills Idiocy Enthusiasts

These are Bills fans....so be courteous to them. Just don't get too close and get infected with their negativity. #GoBills

You could have saved your keyboard and just said you’re a homer.

Not that there is anything wrong with that.

Those that are critical of their team in the biggest moments aren’t Debbie Downers or an infectious disease as the OP claims.

My reply was more in the order of a Seinfeld episode.

I have great optimism, and minimal sarcasm when faced with our post season chances.

Regardless here I am.

Go Bills!

Now that's a high bar, just being happy that we're not one of the dregs in the league.

With Allen at QB, uncoached this team would be .500.

What's interesting is that neither McD nor the players are content right now, but we're being told that as fans we need to be.

Funny how that works.

Otherwise how is this post even football related, it's a hit piece on a huge portion of the fan base.

It’s a shame some feel the need to start threads like this. I used to do it occasionally, but I then realized that nobody is changing anyone’s mind in this forum with a few exceptions. We are who we are — and the bottom line is that none of us have any impact upon what happens on the field. At our best, we are united in hoping for a Bills Super Bowl win. At our worst, we argue over things we can’t control and try to prove we are “right” or know more than someone else.

I’ll say what I always say: this is a fun team and I’m thankful to be watching a guy like Josh Allen represent our team and fan base. Only one team wins the Super Bowl each year and a lot of things have to go right to get there.

Go Bills!
