Ojolaffub Posted January 7 Posted January 7 A 15-17 hour Smoked brisket with a loaded baked potato casserole, homemade coleslaw and some kind of greens….I’m thinking of telling everyone it’s horse meat just for a reaction after they try it. 5 1 Quote
coloradobillsfan Posted January 7 Posted January 7 It's not a good food city - it just isn't. That 'top 25' list pretty much exemplifies it. 1 2 Quote
stinky finger Posted January 7 Posted January 7 I don't typically eat during games. My nerves and all especially with playoffs. I will have a white chicken chili prepared in the crockpot however. 2 Quote
thenorthremembers Posted January 7 Posted January 7 Thinking of picking up a half baked pizza from Bocce Club on Saturday and cooking it for the game. Not completely sold on that but at this moment thats the plan. 2 1 Quote

Sojourner Posted January 8 Posted January 8 Tempted to recreate the Yakiniku I had years ago in Iwaki, Japan. Was a platter of horse, goat and pig meat. Can’t say I’ve seen horse meat back here but then again I’ve never looked. Bulgogi sliders and Korean Corn Dogs I think is a better choice lol I’ll leave it to our boys to eat up the horses this weekend. 3 1 1 Quote

Definitely not many good local specialties to speak of. There are some really good restaurants, but most of those are run by people who moved to Colorado. At least that is my experience. 3 Quote

Love it!!! When I had season tickets and a couple games thereafter when the Eagles would come to Orchard Park, I would olive oil brush and bake in advance the largest fully intact turkey wings I could find for the tailgate. I would then grill at the tailgate on the old 20,000 BTU portable Weber two of those large turkey wings with the lid down after I sprinkled white feathers around and under the grill on the ground. As Eagles fans passed by our tailgate site I would open the lid to reveal those massive turkey wings and tell those walking by that they were Bald Eagle Wings. Then I would say I was Canadian and "are they they not legal to eat here in the US?". Never once arrested. 1 1 1 Quote

Apparently, the Dutch and the French love their horse meat. Personally, I prefer moose and the few times I tried horse meat I found it very grainy. 1 1 Quote

Likely would be a neigh for me to have by choice Never had moose but there’s a guy I used to work with who went hunting&fishing near Misstissani in Quebec, he used to say it’s similar to Elk but just gamier. Would like to give it a crack as I enjoyed elk meat the times I’ve had it. 1 Quote

There was a restaurant called Bailos on Lovejoy and Bailey (burned down years ago) that supposedly served horse meat for their "Beef on Weck" dinners back in the old'en days. It was excellent. They also used beef gravy instead of au ju. 2 Quote

It is expensive however if you get there when the store opens up, sometimes you get lucky and find it 50% discounted when it was full price the night before. There is a restaurant in Regina, Saskatchewan called The Diplomat that had elk steak on the menu when I was living there or visiting and I would always order it. I see it is NO longer on their menu anymore => https://thediplomatsteakhouse.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/72094-Diplomat-Supper-Menus-8.5x11-web.pdf Moose is NOT a domesticated animal and thus cannot be purchased. My Late Father shot a handful of them over the years so I grew up eating it. 1 1 Quote
