Totally get that, but his poise and ability to move in the pocket to buy time...he's gonna be really really good I think and they drafted him in the freaking 6th round...hopefully they trade him the the giants for their second this year...I wouldn't be super shocked if a new coach comes in though and names Milton the starter...I don't think he's just better than Maye, I think Milton could be elite (hopefully someone who actually knows football can weigh in on this, but like I said, I based this off watching Milton in the preseason and the bills game)...also, the bills weren't playing the 75th player on the preseason roster...he played against mostly legit nfl role players...granted the bills defense isn't the best version, but these are players that have been rostered on nfl rosters all season largely.

The way the Bills made Joe Milton look the Patriots would be foolish not to try and trade him for some draft capital. What the chances a team would pay a 2nd or 3rd?

Joe Milton had looked that good all preseason and not just in preseason games, reports out of training camp were that he was absolutely crushing it all camp

1. Rest key starters

2. Give reps to depth players and starters returning from injury

3. Prevent New England from selecting the first pick of the 2025 NFL draft.

 

When the Bills ran a failed play on 4th and 10 from well inside minus territory, it was clear they intended to keep the Patriots from the number one selection in the upcoming draft.

 

Who cares? Why are you digesting a meaningless game when we have our first playoff game this weekend?

I live in raleigh, we get the panthers preseason games. Obviously it's against players not in the nfl, totally get that... the accuracy and the ball placement on those short throws is insane for a player with Josh Allen's physical toolkit (not sure on his arm strength compared to Allen). Plus how he seemingly has a plan when things go off script and he's moving to set stuff up and not just bailing...

However they came about it and what was intended and what was not, the Bills were not playing the game to win.  However, it is hard not to be impressed by Milton.  I thought the Bills picking him this year was the best backup plan they could have to continue running the offense as if Josh was playing.  It’s clear that White and Trubisky are odd fits for the offense that loses a lot of ability to draw attention away from receivers due to the running threat at QB.  He isn’t Josh Allen, don’t get me wrong, and teams having schemes and tape to stop them can change the complexion of how a player is viewed.  However, the ability to run similar offense and put similar pressure on a Defense is something I’ve never quite understood with who the Bills get to be backup QBs.  I understand it’s all about supporting Josh in the QB room, but the backup QBs on the team aren’t good contingencies if they have to step on the field in the clutch.

I fear if they instructed him to miss it then it would have split the uprights... just sayin LOL

4.  Get players to as many incentives/milestones as they could:

- Von Miller sack total

- Sam Martin downed inside the 20 total

- James Cook 1000 yards
