Joe Cribbs

I absolutely loved this guy as a kid- total electricity, and if you don't know who Joe Cribbs is, here's a fresher:

 

 

and with a gorgeous soundtrack they gave a deserving player

 

 

 

You don't get that soundtrack if you suck.  

 

Gotta say, I think the small charging buffaloes were the best... but I'm cool with the current unis.

My earliest Bills memory memory is Cribbs….he was awesome and he did some mattress commercial locally.  But he hated Buffalo and forced his way out I believe.

Yeah I remember he was mad about his contract and sat out maybe?  Anyway I remember I was like 11 and in the car going down Colvin in Kenmore and someone had a big handwritten sign on a sheet hanging from the front of their store that said something like "Cribbs is a baby go back to bed" and 3 drunk looking guys in lawn chairs cheering at the passing cars

Tough, weird world- the USFL was trying to compete with the NFL.  They offered some better contracts to huge players, and Cribbs was one of them- Jim Kelly too. 
 

Whattaya do- the AFL would have never joined the NFL, and metric would never have met Standard on the ISS if not for Ralph Wilson and Al Davis... and to a lesser degree, Lamar Hunt.

I loved watching him play

Probably the second best RB pass catcher Bills have ever had.

 

He had amazing vision, rivaled only by Thurman, OJ, and Shady in that regard.

I'm pretty sure the natural reaction to, 'hey, check this player out!', is a douchebag saying, 'I thought he'd died, otherwise I'd respond',

Cribbs is one of my all time favorites.  And Joe was a player before his time.  I hit the wrong emoji with my fat fingers- this happens all of the time to me.

But it didn’t say “check this player out”. It just said his name. That’s why there’s a rule about not having name only titles. Don’t be so sensitive. Here is some music

Loved Cribbs…huge part of those ‘80-81 teams that ended the Miami curse and made the playoffs.  I had completely forgotten he ever played for the 49ers.

I miss that old NFL music. It was the best. And they used to have it in Madden. I used to turn off all the crappy music and leave on only the old NFL music. But they don't even have it anymore in Madden. Sad.
