I’m definitely not trying to be insensitive but we need all hands on deck here. I’m tired of every single week having an important guy or two out. The season is very short. Go win a Super Bowl FFS. We need to be all in the next month then go anywhere you want

What level of family emergency is acceptable for him to be excused from a Week 18 game, or for God’s sake, a playoff game?

I listened to the press conference with McDermott.  Kind of sounded confident that Cooper would be back but we’ll see.

That was my take too.

Don't you dare shame me.

But fr tell me again about how the broncos are a bad matchup and will prob take us down 🥵

Expand

You can listen to Steve Tasker and Chris Brown on that - not "will prob take us down" but Tasker said this was the team he did NOT want to face and one of them said they talked to Luke Kuechly about which offense he found most difficult and it was NO because of Payton (though I'm gonna guess Drew Brees had something to do with that).  Anyway if you want a moderate dose of gloom here you go

It was a meaningless week 18 game, one that he hardly would’ve played in, calm down.

Also, football is a game, it’s literally just a game. Nobody is owed any sort of explanation at all

I didn’t cast anything. I said if he misses the game, it would fit the narrative.

Dude.  Saying missing the playoff game would fit the narrative of "quitting on the team" or "questionable passion for the game" is, in fact, casting an aspersion.

Curtis Samuel actually being somewhat of a bright spot Sunday leaves me less concerned if Cooper can’t play. Still would be a good addition to have but as long as he’s there against the better teams. We should beat Denver so I’m all good with whatever happens in his playing status this weekend.

Samuel had a nice game, to be sure.  8 receptions on 7 targets.  Wasn't playing outside though, which is where having a receiver who can get separation does make a difference.

Oh for sure. It is. But Cooper has played from there with Shakir, Kincaid and Hollins/Keon on the field at the same time.

Just a decent thing to see, him finally playing well especially with poor QB play, going into win or go home and potentially having one of our top guys missing.

8 receptions on 7 targets? Now who is defeating the entirety of math itself?

I.e., we have no actual idea. For all we know, his mom died three days ago. Wait until you actually know something before casting aspersions.

If someone that close to him died I don't think McDermott would say "I hope so."  Seems insensitive IMO.  Oh darn.  I'm casting aspersions.

It's only an aspersion if you imply he's insensitive, like saying "it would be insensitive of McDermott to say "I hope so" if the personal issue is someone close to Cooper died, but that would be in character for McDermott from all the rumors I've heard"

A serious health crisis in someone close to Cooper would fit the circumstances and perhaps the health crisis is not yet resolved, but seems to be resolving - thus "I hope so" and "taking it day by day".

Shakir had 9 receptions on 10 targets vs. Seattle and 7 receptions on 7 targets vs. Tenn, Good Job Samuel and better luck next time!
