Pro athletes don’t take, especially football players. Why do they care about next year or a guy who might take their spot? It’s so stupid when fans get mad at players for winning “meaningless” games. It’s their job and they are going to try to win. The players are going to be competitive and play, yes. Do you really think an ounce of game planning went into this game? Do you really think the play calling was with a win first priority? No, they were 100% ok with losing the game. Quote
Nihilarian Posted Monday at 09:08 PM Posted Monday at 09:08 PM From 3800 to 1800 in draft capital going from the 1st overall to 4th spot. Gotta love the stupidity. Speaking of stupidity...the NY Giants owner keeps Daboll and the GM. Quote

You're not wrong, but I'm curious to see how it plays out this year. You’re probably right, someone with draft capital and bad management could get antsy and offer a deal desperately trying to get better at QB. The #3 or 4 might be in play as well. Quote
UKBillFan Posted Monday at 09:22 PM Posted Monday at 09:22 PM Both. If the Bills really wanted to win, Josh would have played. If the Bills wanted to win, Mitch would have been kept in. But the Pats didn't really try to lose, either. The message must have been go out and prove yourselves, rather than play within. Maybe Meyo did know he was off and wanted to screw the franchise over on departure. Can hardly blame him if so. Quote
QCity Posted Monday at 11:40 PM Posted Monday at 11:40 PM They didn't even tell Milton he was playing until the game started. 1 Quote
Mark Long Beach Posted Tuesday at 12:04 AM Posted Tuesday at 12:04 AM Since I wanted us to low-key lose and deny the pats the #1 draft, it was a fun game to watch. Saw some backups play some decent football. Some good things on tape, some not so good stuff as well. VERY Vanilla. What really made the game for me was watching Milton. He was playing well and having fun. Has a little of Josh in him. I'd love to have him on our team. 1 Quote

They would have been better off with Brissett under centre if they wanted to lose. He wouldn’t be as concerned about proving himself or putting play on tape. Milton, understandably, wanted to make a mark. Quote
Matt_In_NH Posted Tuesday at 12:43 AM Posted Tuesday at 12:43 AM I got the feeling both teams were good with a loss but they both tried to make it not look super obvious. When both teams want to lose one still has to win kinda the opposite of any other game. Quote

I don't think the Pats players care about the #1 pick. They wanted to win a game as they are competitors. The Bills tried to win as well with their backups and scrubs. And, the 2nd string QB for the PATS was much better than expected! Quote

Kelly to Allen Posted Tuesday at 06:32 AM Posted Tuesday at 06:32 AM (edited) Ppl really gotta remember that the Patriots have always been an incompetent joke franchise. They were the loser nobody liked growing up who got lucky picking up a 6 pack, some cigs and a Lotto ticket. They lucked into the goat QB in rd 6 and he played for 20 years lol. Bellicheat never had a winning record without Tom lol. It was all fake, all the " do your job " and Bellicheat genius. It was all fake.... It was late stage Saddam level propaganda and it completely collapsed once Tom was retired. This has always been a division for the most part that would cycle between Miami and Buffalo Even in the infamous 83 QB class, everyone laughed at the pats for taking Tony Eason over Kelly and Marino. It was a big joke Edited Tuesday at 06:37 AM by Kelly to Allen Quote
Repulsif Posted Tuesday at 08:36 AM Posted Tuesday at 08:36 AM From an organisation pov, it's stupid yes From player's view, you have a last opportunity to show you are NFL caliber to save your $$$ job, and you have the opportunity to bring less fierce competition for the next year What is your choice ? Doc Brown Posted Tuesday at 09:05 AM Posted Tuesday at 09:05 AM No clue but half of the weekly Bills party we have was spent trying to explain to the casuals why both teams wanted to lose. We do jello shots every time the Bills score usually but on Sunday even we just did it every time either team scored. 1 Quote

Literally they must be a laughing stock behind the scenes for most other franchises. What a complete ***** show they are. You have the FIRST pick, and all you need to do is to lose. How hard is that assignment? HAHAHAHAHA The Giants in Week 17 and the Patriots in Week 18...The worst one is the Giants as they do have a need at QB and it is slim pickings at QB position in this years draft. Quote
