Was hoping to say Bishop but Hamlin is the safe choice.

Maybe Cole sees more time vs Baltimore and the tougher run teams

Im hoping we drop a safety and play 3 LBs (Taron becomes second safety effectively) against Bal.  Basically i hope they are cooking something special up lol.

Hamlin.  Bishop seems to be developing slower than anticipated,  but never know when that light switch will turn on. Hamlin is the better, safer option right now for sure. Hopefully Bishop can develop into starter material. he has much better attributes

Amazing story, really seems like a mature, good guy , and will get the CPOTY

I think we got a hint yesterday that it's going to be Hamlin.

He started with Rapp yesterday, and my guess is McDermott wants a bit of continuity going into the post season with those two. (As Hamlin missed the last 3 games)

Yeah, that’s my dream scenario as well, I’m just not sold that it’s something we’d switch to unless we’ve been scheming it throughout the season. Maybe it’s the ultimate rope a dope, but I don’t think it’s in the cards

They've done it on early downs during a few games over the last month or two.

If all three of Bernard, Milano and Williams are healthy, they can probably run it effectively while protecting Williams.

If one of them is out, it becomes a much more dicey proposition.

It looks like all three will be a go unless Bernard has a set back. It will be interesting to watch.

Hamlin may be the "safe" choice, but that could end up meaning that instead of giving up the big play, opposing offenses repeatedly victimize his lack of athleticism.

I'd rather see Bishop out there even if he takes the occasional bad angle but keeps doing other things that Hamlin isn't capable of.

The Bills are playing for a Super Bowl. Forget safe, it's time to throw caution to the wind.

Hamlin. And it's really not even close IMO.

Let Bishop have the off-season and come back to camp ready to start next year

Agree.  I am hoping the offseason plan they give Bishop does the add muscle while retaining speed thing as expected.  Clear the the kids head was/is swimming a bit this year...as can be expected though coming into this safety heady scheme.  Can be a big off season for the guy...hope he grabs it with both hands.

Hamlin might be the safe choice, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Bishop if we play Baltimore...he allows the Bills to do more exotic stuff and play Cover 3, Cover 6 more and play down in the box more as another LB but still get deep when they want to disguise coverages from that position, something Hamlin simply doesn't have the foot speed to do.

Last Jets game was a great example of how they can play different coverages with him in the game than they can with Hamlin in there.

That’s good news.  I hadn’t noticed.  Thanks

You may be right. We desperately need a big play guy on defense to replace the lost playmaking of Poyer, Hyde and Milano. Hamlin definitely isnt that guy but the problem is I dont think Bishop is either.
