He looked fine albeit against a bad team who also weren't playing all their starters. Good guy to keep developing but if a bunch of guys go down and he's the one chasing Kelce/Pacheco around the field at Arrowhead, I will just save my sanity and not watch.

He won't probably provide the splash plays we saw from Milano, but he definitely is being groomed to replace Matt in a year or two.  If we ever slide to a more traditional 4-3, I could easily see Bernard, Andreesen and Williams being the starters.

I don't think so.   He is clearly the backup mike (green dot on the helmet) mike LB.  He has never seen action in the Milano role to my knowledge.  Kid must have instincts and smarts to be designated so.   Folks on the board need to realize that the Milano and Bernard roles are NOT interchangeable.  Sigh.

I think he was okay. I thought he was slow to react at times, especially in coverage, I don't think he will ever be a starter but I do think he can carve out a career as a key backup type player. He has the athleticism but seemed a little overmatched physically IMO and was chasing the play a bit. I am excited to watch his growth.

If he had the green dot (which I think he did) then setting up all of the D was part of what Buffalo was evaluating.

I thought he had the D generally in the right position.  I'm sure we were going very vanilla on D, but not entirely from what I saw.

I think it's pretty normal for players to be slow to react their first year.  They are still thinking about things, it is see-process-react whereas when they develop the processing bit becomes automatic and it's see-react, see-react. (this is the rust IMO that Milano is scraping off)

I actually felt Buffalo Joe looked less "lost in space" than Bernard did his first year or Williams his first year, which is positive.

He'll benefit from a full off season of NFL level strength training and conditioning for sure.

Backups cash checks written by NFL teams. If you're a backup standing out against other backups I don't see how that's a negative.

Right on!

I think Buffalo Joe is to the NFL kind of like Buddy Holly or Elvis Costello are to rock stars.  Birth Control glasses, geeky looks - "hell, if he can be a rock star, I can be a rock star!"  So he has that sort of "everyman" appeal to him.  [Edit: I'm not saying Buffalo Joe wears birth control glasses or looks geeky, just that if a kid from Lancaster can go from UB to walk on at training camp to making the Bills roster, Well Hey!]

But just like Holly was and Costello is actually an exceptional musician, "Buffalo Joe" has to be pretty exceptional to even make it from walk-on to starting an NFL game AND wearing the green dot in that game, even a game with little meaning (to the Bills).

Very good assessment.  He needs to improve his upper body strength to get off blocks faster.  It will also help with tackling.

I'm happy if the Bills have a LB who can get off blocks ever.

Checked out the Bahama Bowl to see how Dolac would do... he was pedestrian, although he had this huge The Fugitive appliance on one arm so I dunno how banged up he was. #41 Red Murdock on the Bulls had several splash plays and actually looked like what I've been told Dolac does.

Dolac has definitely been better than andreessen throughout their career and we all know Joe made the NFL

Him and red are both top five in tackles .. UB has a great pipeline at linebacker

This is like judging Keon Coleman on last Sunday's game. 😂 While Murdoch had the bigger splash plays in the bowl game, trust me when I say Dolac is legit. He leads the FBS in tackles and he's been named an All American.

It also just means red's also really good

He's basically an upperclassman now and also probably has a future in football
