The losses to Houston and the Rams were against lesser opponents but both were on the road and in Houston we had significant injuries to guys playing now and we didnt have Cooper on the team now. We have not lost a game at home at all this season. Despite over achieving pre-season expectations, the Broncos could have clinched a playoff spot by winning week 16, 17 or 18. Instead, when the pressure was on they lost against LAC and CIN before beating the Chiefs in week 18 playing backups. Yes I know Denver has some good units and arent an easy out, Buffalo is the superior team. Digging into the details a bit: Denver leads the league in sacks which is the biggest strength of Buffalo. Josh has been sacked fewer than any QB in the league this season. If Im a DC that relies on getting to the QB to get stops, this doesnt make me feel good. Yes Surtain can shut down a single WR by himself, but our "spread it around" philosophy on offense makes this less signifncant. Case in point is the game against Detroit where Cooper had 0 targets and we scored 48 points. So the two key strength of Denver are up against our strengths as well. On the other side of the ball, Buffalo philosophy in keeping things in front of us and making the other teams make a mistake is the exact strategy that works against rookie QBs. Bo Nix has 12 ints on the season, and I dont expect him to orchestrate 6-7 scoring drives against us without a turnover. Ultimately, while I dont expect a cake walk, over the course of 4Q I expect Buffalo will win comfortably. I was thinking about that with Surtain. It's really one of the nice things about not having a true #1 guy in our WR corps. He'll probably take Cooper most of the time - or maybe Shakir? It doesn't really matter, because we spread it around more than any other top-tier team. I think the only advantage Denver has over us is - weirdly - youth & inexperience. They don't have that pressure of expectation that the Bills have. If they can hang in the game long enough, that could potentially be a negative for the Bills. Just knowing how devastating an upset in the WC round would be. But I don't expect that to play out. I think we come out, execute, play our game, and play like the better team w/ the significantly better QB, at home. I expect us to take a lead early not not really look back. Quote

Straight Hucklebuck Posted Friday at 07:49 PM Posted Friday at 07:49 PM I expect this game to play out like Bills-Colts from 2020. I think the Broncos will move the ball against the Bills easier than we’d like. The margins for this Bills offense to exploit are going to be thin. In that game it was Gabe Davis with two razor-thin catches along the sideline and unconventional TD to Knox, capped by a late goal line stand. 1 Quote

Sean Payton. 14 years coaching with one of the all-time great, HOF QBs in Drew Brees. 1 Superbowl win, 2 conference losses, 4 division losses If he were coaching in Buffalo, we'd have been calling the plows for his removal in 2013 if not 2012. 4 1 Quote

McD has a better regular season record and a better record in the playoffs (Payton is under .500 in the playoffs despite having a HOFer the majority of the time) 2 Quote

Philip Rivers was an absolute terror for the Bills for as long as he played. He was still great in 2020. Threw for like 4100 yards that season. I am not sure Bo Nix is going to have that same impact as that wily vet. Quote

I feel like its going to be similar to the cardinals game week 1 or the dolphins game. I have convinced myself Payton is going to come out and play big and pound the ball. All this talk all week that they can not run the ball is a misnomer. Payton is going to find out quickly if the Bills can match the physicality that the broncos plan to play with. If they hold up and the bills smother the run game I think he will abandon it pretty quickly and substitute the short passing game to the backs in its place. My strongest opinion on this game is that the most important element is going to be Field Position. If Nix is starting drives inside his 20 or 25 regularly I think the Bills are going to be really really aggressive and come after him. If they have great starting field position, say 40 ish regularly the bills will be careful and the broncos will run and play patient. Field Position and the environment being great could really hamper The broncos abilities on offense. I am hoping the bills come out on defense and just stuff the run and get 2nd team Josh the ball at like the 38 ish they play downhill right away. GD I am nervous. 2 Quote

Agreed. It’s a bit much the amount of disrespect being given to the #2 seed in the AFC. It’ll be a bit interesting to see how the team responds to all this come Sunday at 1:00. I really hope the Buffalo media asks every player about why everyone feels they suck so bad. 3 1 Quote

Did I read that correct? The only Bills O-Lineman that got any votes was Dawkins and he got 5. How did McGovern not get any or spencer brown? 2 1 Quote

Most of the local media has hinted at hamler being promoted to return punts. I think Codrington will be a gametime decision but if hamler is promoted from the practice squad saturday they probably are not going to have codrington active Quote

Pittsburgh is playing like absolute garbage on offense. Lamar needs to get to a Super Bowl to validate his MVPs and career. The Ravens played like crap in last year's AFCCG. And now in order to move forward they face a team that has eaten Lamar's lunch for the better part of his time there. I absolutely agree that the Steelers look like trash but Tomlin will have them ready. 1 Quote

As I recall after starting slow the Bills opened up a 24 - 10 lead early in the 4th quarter with Allen's 40 yard TD throw to Diggs. Then the McD/Frazier Defense went into its playoff prevent mode and allowed Indy to score on 2 long TD drives to make us sweat bullets at the end. Quote

DapperCam Posted Friday at 08:56 PM Posted Friday at 08:56 PM The Broncos got 5 All Pros! That’s nearly 25% of the starters on both sides of the ball! Curious the spread is so wide with so much talent. Quote
