He did say right up front that he thinks Buffalo wins the game

(before saying he can see an upset happening)

He said Denver treats Surtain like the Jets used to treat Revis, they put him on one side of the field and you put an "X" on that side of the field, and that takes away everything the Bills want to do?  Except the Bills are probably less dependent than most other teams on having a star receiver Surtain can take away?  It didn't make sense to me but maybe I just don't understand him.

Detroit took Cooper away as he didn't even get a target.  How did that work out for the Lions D?  Your point is spot on and if anything is understated.  No team in the playoffs is less reliant on a single skill player then the Bills.

A 1 o'clock game means I'll be teaching Sunday School.  How does that happen?  Our regular teacher is a photographer for USA Today.  He takes pictures at all home games and has to leave pretty early Sunday Morning to get set up for 1 o'clock games.  I'm his sub.

That’s brutal-  I’m not the man you are- I’d call out 💯

I am interested to know what others think of Kincaid and the potential of him having a decent game on Sunday.

My desire is for him to be an impact player and have 75+ receiving yards.

After his midseason injury is he still TE1? Or has Knox taken that role?

I just want the guy to flourish and be the mismatch we desired him to be.

The bottom line is both are good and that is a weakness of Denver in the middle. Kincaid had 5 catches last time we played them and I recall folks saying he should have been targeted more.

In the grand scheme of things, there are so few playoff wins in this teams history. You can’t ever take a single one for granted. You have to take every opponent seriously and you have to appreciate all of it. Teams go decades between playoff wins. No matter what it is, you take the Broncos seriously and if we win…you celebrate the hell out of it. Yes we have bigger goals and yes we are supposed to win. That doesn’t change one second about feeling great about it. If we do obviously. Find a way to get 1 more than they do. Survive and advance and take this all in. Enjoy it. And let’s all appreciate the era we are living in.

This is what fandom looks like when we remove our own egos from it. Couldn't agree more.

At least until the season ends. That's when all the online, self-appointed GMs and analysts and pundits get to create and respond to content for the rest of us to consume and regurgitate.

The primary reason I loved Madden '02-'05 was the offseasons in franchise mode. All the FA and draft and prospect development stuff was really my jam. (Might have had something to do with the Bills being absolute drought-era shite during these years.)

Sidebar: '02 started the trend of outstanding soundtracks: sick individual contributions from the former members of Blackstar, with Mos Def/Yasiin Bey contributing one instrumental track and also Talib Kweli and DJ Hi-Tek (Reflection Eternal) contributing the real theme/banger.

Surely there could be a worthy teaching message in having the pupils watch the game

The strength of having faith even in oneself, treating your body as a temple to perform at a high level, the apostles (the o-line) defending football Jesus (Allen) so he can work his miracles....

I'd say it pretty much writes itself.

Pedagogically, one could probably (depending on the grade-level/subject and the instructor's curricular autonomy) justify the integration of community-based engagement and critical reflection.

Edit: turns out this is about teaching Sunday school. Just deleted a whole bit about it being a win-win to either reinforce the answering of their hopeful prayers, or an appropriate punishment for and the resulting lifelong guilt from their sinful existences.

Agreed, but my inevitable cursing and temper tantrums as McD takes TOs on defense would frighten/be hard to explain.

Flip side: The bend but don't break defense, who creates opportunistic turnovers, forces an offense to go and be really good and execute for 10+ plays every drive...knowing your offense is going to go get a touchdown with their possession. You are betting that your defense can get enough red zone stops and create a turnover or two to give extra possessions your top tiered offense.

Sure, you could go about it in an over aggressively manner, but that only takes one big play from the offense to match your offense. Like it or not, the defensive philosophy is to force the offenses to continuously execute for 60 minutes.

I would love to see us be more aggressive on 2nd and 3rd and long for sure though, instead of allowing teams to get into 3rd and shorts/manageable or convert against soft 3rd down looks. That is my one hope to see (and we have seen more aggressive calls and man coverage the last 5/6 weeks of the season) in the playoffs.

I see your point but in both scenarios, the assumption is Josh is going to score most likely. Knowing that, id rather not play the defense that’s going to allow for those 10+ play drives where we play soft coverage. That’s all well and good against Mac Jones. But we are in the AFC, home of the elite QBs in the playoffs. Playing pitch and catch against soft coverage is easy for the likes of Mahomes and Burrow. Gotta be aggressive and throw then different looks to force a few stops and get Josh the ball back.

I listened to that clip and I just think Dan is trying to make himself sound more credible because he has been so over-the-top about the Bills and Allen this season.  I agree with you that the “take away 1/2 of the field” notion doesn’t make sense to me against the Bills.  I think Allen is going to work the middle of the field with his RBs and TEs (and Shakir) and give Denver all sorts of trouble.  And while everyone is praising Denver’s defense they have done it against some of the worst opposition around, while coming up short against winning football teams.  They are a team headed in the right direction but they have not yet “arrived” in my opinion.

I've also frightened neighbors and loved ones during McD Third and Long Time outs.

on O, the bills do a little bit of everything and are decent at all of it at worst.  we don't really seem to have a really tried and true tendency this season, aside from some like macro concepts (man beater on one side, zone on the other, which is a big part of the EP O).

our highest efficiency has been when josh is blitzed/pressured (as in we exceed the rest of the nfl in that situation, not that we want to be pressured), and our passing game to the backs.  we average nearly 11 yards per completion to backs.  denver is awful at covering backs.  their d kinda reminds me of the shwartz d's we had here.  d line just assaults people w a four man rush, outside coverage is really solid with one total shut down guy, and they body up runs w dline impact and backers screaming into gaps.  misdirection, passes in the middle (when protection holds up) and passes in the flat and on wheel routes and screens to RBs destroy them.

we are going to see our backs have a game similar to the detroit one, and a few deep shots will keep the secondary honest.  i also expect allen to hold the ball and scramble and run to great effect, and over time the run game might find a crack and show effeciency.

on the other side, we will kinda let them run a bit, and send pressure on passing downs.  nix will convert a few, including some with his legs, but he'll be forced into mistakes.  i think by the third quarter the bills will double dip or score, stop, score and just open up a can on the broncos.

Depending on where Cooper’s head is at with his personal/family issue, I can see he and Josh testing Surtain once or twice downfield.
