I must say (in my best Ed Grimley voice ;) ) that I'm genuinely surprised by the price of tickets on Ticketmaster and the apparent lack of demand for a home playoff game.

I've spoken with a number of people who said they we're saving their money and time for the division round, which I can understand but at the same time it's the playoffs and nothing is guaranteed.

Are we that spoiled now with a 5-5 record in the playoffs over the last few years, that a wild card game at home during what is relatively mild weather (by WNY in January standards anyway) just isn't that big of a draw?

Also think they need to watch Bo Nix running on passing downs. He will run for first downs on 3rd. May need to implement a spy, or at least keep him in the pocket when it is collapsing.

He has scrambled more than anyone other than Jayden Daniels this year.  Which makes sense...when rookies get pressured or don't have anything open, they are far more likely to try and pull it and run than to let something develop.  That comes with more experience and comfortableness in the offense, as well as once the game starts to slow down more for them in years 3 and 4, etc.

Everyone agrees with you on how ownership feels. He's not going anywhere even if we lose vs Denver and Bo nix looks like prime Marino

But if that happens, in year 7 with Allen, I'm telling you that Josh Allen and the bills will never get to ,( not win), a super bowl.

It will never happen with this coach. And with a big Ben, Elway level QB, that's more depressing than the Kelly super bowl years.

To have this level of QB and your coach is that terrible in the playoffs on his side of the football is pure nihilism in a sports sense and fans will grow extremely bitter and cynical. Regardless of how Terry feels or whatever

Hopefully the game doesn’t go in a manner like you described. If it did , however I would be shocked if it didn’t result in big changes. Maybe McD stays, but a major change on the defensive side of the ball. You’re making a huge assumption regarding Pegula and what his thoughts on the matter are. None of us know for sure. Standing pat would be very surprising imo.

I love Hyde but I think it will be Shakir. With Elam active

Wouldn't be surprised if they elevated Hardy for that role since he was an exceptional returner at Penn State but it would be pretty tough to trust a guy in that spot who hasn't played much, if all during the season...

Oh thank Christ. I kept hearing about how much Man Coverage the Broncos run and honestly even if they put Surtain on him we've seen  Brady use motion to generate mismatches

While I may not agree that this single game will tell us if this head coach can win a SB or not, I totally agree with everything else you wrote.

At some point if the defense is not going to step up and get a timely turnover or god forbid force a punt late in a close playoff game, then you either make a tough decision to move on from a really good HC in hopes of getting over the hump or you go down in history as being the organization that played it safe and didn’t win anything with one of the greatest QBs if all time.

Codrington not practicing today. Micah, suit up!

How amazing would it be for Hyde to play for Codrington and Micah comes in and returns a kickoff or punt for a TD? That would be insane

I’m not surprised as we’ve seen this before. Fans only have so much $ to spend, and the divisional opponent will probably be a higher profile team than Denver. Many ticket holders are likely financing  their tickets by selling the first round. Heck, even during the SB years a wildcard game was a tough sell. The lower prices will likely bring a younger, loud and rowdy crowd and that’s not a bad thing. Forcing a 2 seed to play a WC game has ( mostly) led to this.

How about telling the team that NOBODY is to run out a kickoff if it goes in the endzone. Take it at the 30 every time...no fumbles, no holding calls, nothing.

Isn’t the issue with punts not KO’s Anyway, Denver could kick off short and force BUF to field them if they want to.

Funny you mention that, I was thinking that the Bills game plan vs the Ravens if it gets to that should be to play 3 LB formations and use Dorian as the spy against Lamar.  He’s a see and run sort of player, he wouldn’t be exposed to his biggest weakness which is dropping back into coverage, serves as a third and beefed up player against the run and he’s the most athletic out of the linebackers which is best suited to pursue Lamar.

I think a 5 man rush with the spy against Lamar can be effective

Some wild games we’ve had with Denver through the years, including 10-7 AFCCG and this!

Amazing 90 seconds!  This demonstrates how important special teams are.  The Bills ST used to be outstanding.  89!

Only path to a broncos win I can see is Bo Nix playing flawless and winning a shootout

Thanks for your input on Broncos' D. I admit that I have not watched them much. Only based on paper. I think the way the Broncos for a possible upset is more on the line that they sustain drives, keeping Josh and offense on the sideline - the Bills nearing the league bottom 3rd down defense and Nix's mobility may make that a likely scenario. Then on defense they manage to get a turnover (or from special team) to steal a possession, making it a close game to the end. To me that is a far more likely plan from their view than trying to win a shootout.

I was actually thinking that if we win this game, it would be good practice for defending Lamar too. Though we would have to focus more on the running game against Baltimore than Denver.

I like your thought on using Dorian as the spy as he can run people down, I do worry though about him flying in out of control which could allow Lamar to gash us on scrambles

I believe it was 77 seconds , but yeah that was a crazy game. We all sat on our hands for the better part of four quarters The defense couldn’t stop anything that day , then came alive after a blocked kick that Bennett returned for a TD.

I say peggs needs to tell him to bring in a new DC, with a better system and just HC.
