Ravens beating the Steelers is no guarantee either. Lamar has been terrible against the Steelers.

Lame-ar will not arise until the divisional round. I think enough of the team will rise to beat the Steelers.

It's kind of funny.

Will the Steelers be the Steelers to lose or will the Ravens be the Ravens and fold?

I can imagine a game where both teams try to lose this game despite being a high scoring game.

Denver is a good team. I actually think both 2 vs 7 matchups this year are tough.

But at the end of the day, the path to the Super Bowl depends on the defense actually stepping up. We're healthy this year. There is no excuse. We've lost playoff games where Josh was greater than Superman because of the defense and/or special teams.

Somebody else has to step up. It's simple

The Ravens have so much more to lose this weekend…the Steelers are playing with house money.  I expect Tomlin to have them loose and ready to go.  Baltimore is clearly the better team but this is going to be a one score game in the 4th quarter and anything can happen.

I’m asking for what it takes to win. Not being on skates against any competent QB. Zero pressure, all day to find wide open guys on 3rd down and WRs with 6 yards of cushion on 3rd and 2. I want to see defense. Not whatever this fall back pray for FGs and turnovers passive aggressive BS we play. Go play defense. Dictate. Don’t be playing to not lose. Go win. If our defensive scheme had half the balls our offense always does, we’d be dangerous

Aggressiveness on defense pays off...see the Lions last Sunday against the vikings

Fortune favors the bold

McDermott and his defensive philosophy allows the best QB's to simply pick them apart and kill them slowly with prolonged drives

All the excuses for him and the defense are gone. If they completely fold like they have done, the blame falls squarely on him

I agree with you, but it also has to be recalled that the announcers were sort of yukking it up about how vanilla and un-specific Spagnuolo's defense was against Denver.  Payton can attack specific defenses, but McDermott also does have a good track record of attacking and confusing rookie QBs.

EDIT: I do think it should be pointed out that Denver's QB coach is Davis Webb.  He knows Josh Allen well.

Announcers are Chiefs apologists  enablers, and ass kissers.    They fellation the Chiefs during games the Chiefs are even playing.  Collinsworth is the biggest Chiefs Fluffer there is.

Lamar Jackson is not good in the playoffs.

Mike Tomlin is much, much worse.

This worries me a lot, we've had a punt blocked that cost us a game, 4 missed XP's, and inconsistent FG kicking all season, plus Bass isn't exactly using the new kickoff rules to the Bills advantage, we are 4th worst in return yards allowed and we are one of only two teams to give up a kickoff return TD.

Been saying it for a while now... this defense lives off turnovers. Without them even the worst teams would give us a shootout. Can't rely on having turnovers every game. Especially against the best teams.

But as I’ve been shown, statistically the Bills are near the top of the league every year in turnovers forced. It’s their plan. When it works, they usually win, often by a lot. But when the turnovers aren’t there, or the offense turns it over more, they get run over. The Bills are somehow making it work by consistently forcing turnovers. I guess it’s one way to make up for a lack of playmakers on defense.

From The Buffalo News analysis on the Bills 3rd down defense.  It's as bad and frustrating as we've all seen with our eyes.  We all know they've masked this deficiency by getting takeaways and 4th down stops.   Does anything get changed for the playoffs?

"They rank 29th in the league in third-down defense, allowing opponents to convert 43.8% of opportunities into first downs. It’s the worst rate allowed in the eight-year Sean McDermott era. But on the 4-yard range between third-and-6 and third-and-9 – situations in which the defense should have a distinct advantage – the Bills’ defense stinks.

The Bills are allowing opponents to convert 53.7% on third-and-6 to third-and-9 – worst in the NFL by far. The league average is 36.3%, and only three other teams are at 43% or worse. The Bills have allowed 29 of 54 plays to become first downs".

Yeah until you have a single elimination game and Mahomes doesnt turn over the ball at least twice while not turning it over yourself. Its not a recipe for playoff success IMO.

Marvin Lewis didn't have Josh Allen. With his defensive resume he probably already has a championship with Allen. It's Marvin Lewis vibes regardless...

You're being silly. If you want a specific example it is Marty schottenheimer right now.

Even Dan Reeves still got to multiple super bowls with Elway

It doesn't matter if he didn't have Allen or not, Marvin Lewis vibes is incorrect because the guy never won a playoff game in 7 tries and only made the playoffs in 7 of 16 seasons. Just stop with this "vibes" comparison. It's not right

Andy Reid in Philly vibes? Yes

Tony Dungy in Tampa vibes? Yes

Marvin Lewis vibes? No, not even close.

Agree.  It also forces the offense to play perfectly while the defense is giving up yards and points until the turnovers come.

Its crazy how clean he has played against us.

No INT in the 3 games against us and 8 in the other 15 games.

9 TDs versus us 37 in the other 15.

3 sacks for us 32 in the other 15.

93 rushing yards against us 431 in the other 15.

11 fumbles in the other games and none against us.

I dont know what his rating would be without our games but hes 120+ in all of them and only 105 in total.

just insane how much better he plays against us.  We need a pats perfect game to get rid of this trauma.

Our 3rd down defense has been horrendous all year. We are laying way to far off the WRs and the zone was figured out in 2018. This defense has been the reason we haven’t won a Super Bowl yet and is why we have lost every playoff game after Jacksonville. McDermott needs to swallow his pride and change this thing up right now because you never know when we will be back. We have the best player in the NFL at the most important position in sports. It’s time for this coach and his defense to pull its weight. At the very least to not sink us.

It’s completely unfair for this team to just hope for the offense to score on every drive. It’s not sustainable. In order to play the complementary football we preach, the defense needs to step up. And not just a little. A ton. You can’t just rely on turnovers. You need to do what the good defenses do and make real stops. Not 12 play FG drives that eat clock and end up inside our 10. Not crazy extended 3rd and long conversations. Just real stops. This defense owes us 1. A run. They owe us a post season of good play that gives our all world QB a chance. The excuses are over. We are healthy. Enough writing off seasons. This is when the lights come on for real. No margin for error. We are the best team in the league and the “happy to be there” left years ago. It’s time to finish one. This coach and this defense need to elevate. They absolutely owe that to this team and the fans.

Perfectly stated. It’s why McDermotts style has never made sense to pair with Josh. The whole point of having the best QB in the league is for him to have the ball and go to work. Not standing on the sidelines while your boring defense can’t rush the passer and continues to convert 3rd and longs to keep the ball away from you. Detroit has it figured out. Put pressure on the other team with your defense. If they give up a big play, that’s ok, your offense will get it back. More times than not, your agressive D will force the other QB to be uncomfortable and you’ll get the ball back to your offense. Instead McDermott is content with his boring defense  and having Josh sit on the sidelines for a while. That only forces pressure on Josh to be perfect when he gets the ball too. Would be nice to see a change before it’s too late.

Amazing. A lack of aggression / risk taking or just dumb luck ? Lack of talent? The disparity is huge.

Marvin Lewis didn't have Allen...

More cover 1 excuses already being prepped for the playoffs if McDermott can't stop a nose bleed

No other head coach has ever had Allen, yet have won more playoff games than Marvin Lewis. John Gruden won a Super Bowl with Brad Johnson, Brian Billick won with Trent Dilfer, Lovie Smith got Rex Grossman to a Super Bowl. John Fox got Jake Delhomme to a Super Bowl. Stop with the "he didn't have Allen excuse" I just gave many examples of coaches that didn't have Allen that won multiple playoff games and Super Bowls without Allen. Lewis didn't do it in 7 tries
