The Broncos could catch some luck and catch us like the Skyler Thompson year. But there defense at the end of the season hasn't been very good. Sure any team can get sloppy and lose a playoff game they should win. But I don't see the Bills, who had 8 total TO's over 17 games this season, suddenly committing half that amount this Sunday against Denver. Which is what they did against Miami in that playoff game. There isn't much more to this game to make it appealing. Nix vs Allen will be the game day hype. Short of that the defense is what is big 1 Quote

MikePJ76 Posted yesterday at 02:50 AM Posted yesterday at 02:50 AM Interesting to me. the final three games the bills came out and run halfback tosses to the left and right. I don’t think they ran a single one the whole year before the pats game. i wonder if that’s something they did to get on film to maybe set something up in the playoffs. 1 Quote
Scott7975 Posted yesterday at 03:01 AM Posted yesterday at 03:01 AM Damn I hate the NFL blocks the thumbnail and stuff. I dont see what their issue is with embedding but whatever... This is the NFL preview of the game. 2 Quote

Any NFL team can beat any other NFL team, even on the road, and even in the playoffs. So yeah, there’s a non-zero chance we lose this game. But I stand by my pre-Week 18 thought: the Bengals were the team I didn’t want to play. Burrow could just get in a zone where he’s scoring every single time, and you know he’s not going to choke if the game is close. I have a lot of respect for Sean Payton, but there’s no sane world where Bo Nix should be anywhere near as scary. Simply put: There are no guarantees in life, but I like our chances. The Bills should win this game, even if it’s close. 2 1 Quote

No disrespect to McDermott, but there's simply no comparison between him and Andy Reid, who I think is going to be known as the GOAT when he retires. Andy Reid was in the top 10 all-time in HC wins before Mahomes ever took a snap for KC. For comparison, McDermott is currently 54th on the all-time list with 86 wins. Reid is currently 4th with 273 wins, 29 behind Belichick. Reid is the all-time leader in HC wins for 2 different franchises. The knock on Reid was always "yeah, but he can't win the big one." So comparing his Eagles playoff career to McDermott's Bills playoff career doesn't make sense if you're trying to make a case for McDermott. Reid had McNabb and other assorted QBs, who were fine to good but not all time greats. McDermott has Allen, who will go down as an all time great. Not even close in terms of QB talent to work with. Now Reid has 3 SB rings as a HC. So much for that "can't win the big one" argument. What happened with Reid is he finally got his superstar QB prospect late in his career so he had a reputation as "can't win the big one" from coming up against better QB talent early in his career. Reputations get baked in early and it takes a lot to change them. It's the Brady/Manning argument all over again. Manning actually had a winning record against Brady in the playoffs (3-2) but Manning "couldn't win the big games" to many NFL fans. All the above said, the stories of all these guys' careers are still being written. McDermott can absolutely win a Super Bowl. But he has to prove he can do it. Spags does not get enough credit for the work he does in big games. This is the same dude that knocked out the Brady Pats. The man gets it done in the playoffs. Reid+Spags+Mahomes is a deadly trifecta. 1 4 Quote

I don’t think the Steelers can win without a subpar game from Lamar. 1 Quote

We’re going to run it at them to slow down the pass rush but I think we can throw it to Shakir all day and they won’t be able to stop him. Denver did finish the season with the #3 rush defense as far as yards given up. I wish I had a "way back machine" to pull the stats after Week 17 because this past Sunday's games skewed everything, and the game where they gave up 27 rush yards and 71 pass yards to a KC team that was just not trying certainly contributed to great states. But I think the bottom line is we'll try to run it at them, but it's not a foregone conclusion that we can. Quote
Scott7975 Posted yesterday at 03:58 AM Posted yesterday at 03:58 AM I didnt know this stat... the last rookie QB to go on the road in their first playoff game and win was Russel Wilson in 2012. Quote

Wish rush yards were more granular (at least down to the foot). I think median rush yards are probably a better predictor of actual rushing play than YPC NO got 97 versus an average of 78. so the KC game def skewed as it was the farthest from the median (high was 149 which means they didn’t run all over ever) Go to team page on PFR and sort by stat. If you wanna do others. Edited yesterday at 04:10 AM by YattaOkasan Quote
