I keep hearing about how great the Bronco's D is.  So I went back and looked at the Bronco's last 4 games against teams that were trying.  Sorry but you can't include the KC game.

These 4 games are a decent measuring stick as they're at the end of the season and Denver needed to win them in its quest for the wildcard.

Cleveland;  gave up 32 points and 552 yards

Indy;  gave up 13 points (should have been 20 as Taylor dropped the ball before he crossed the goal line with no Bronco player in sight) and 310 yards

Chargers;  gave up 34 points and 380 yards

Bengals;  gave up 30 points and 499 yards.

So tell me why folks are touting this D going into the playoffs?

They get sacks.

They have Surtain.  Jones is a nice S I think he leads their team in tackles.

We’re going to run it at them to slow down the pass rush but I think we can throw it to Shakir all day and they won’t be able to stop him.

Our three-headed RB room all can catch and run after the catch.

I try listening but always turn in off real quick. The stupid calls from old people that want to reminisce about how great Tasker was and then proceed to say the dumbest sh*t ever.

As a certified old person, I take great offense to these comments.

Respect your elders!

And Tasker was awesome.

I was so confident and wanted this game now the Buffalo in me is getting a bit nervous. I don’t want this ride to end.

plus, I still don’t think Nix is anything special. Please make him throw the ball down the field and double Sutton. They are a rhythm type of team so I think if we jump on them early, it should be an easy w. Please crush their souls early.

Nix can be a bit of a gunslinger, there will be chances for INTs, or big plays for them.

Josh will have to beat the rush with his legs or the receivers will need to get quick separation.  Denver will test the Bills, but gashing them with Cook should work too.

Lots of interesting subplots to this game. Just hoping the Bills come out blazing and show Denver early that this will not be their day.

I'm still thinking of a lot of great offensive plays earlier in the season that worked very well.

Both in the running and passing game.  Some were really good misdirection plays.

Plays to Shakir/RBs/Kincaid and then not seen anymore

I get a feeling some of these have been saved and will return during the playoffs.

I'm hoping that not many will be needed in the Broncos game, but they are there if needed.

Looks like Broncos fans are very confident they can come in here and provide an upset.   They dont seem too worried about the Bills at all.

Good for them!

Thank you for attempting to get the conversation back onto this weeks game.

Are you suggesting that he is so good, he’ll single handedly shut down our entire WR core?    Which game was it….Detroit?  That they completely took Cooper out of the game.   How did that go for them?

I’m not as worried about Surtain.  Let him blanket whoever he wants.  I’m more  interested, as Boyst pointed out, in using the outside run game to keep their defensive line and pass rushers too busy to T off on Josh.  Establish the run, hit the open guy quickly.  It’s a formula the Bills have done pretty effectively in many of their games.

Defesively… this game should favor us.  Their strength is passing.  But… let’s just hope we don’t make their pedestrian run game look all world as they are apt to do at times. Stop the run early and force the game onto the rookies shoulders.

Oh sorry!  Fire Jauron!

He can still only cover one WR at any given time

Agreed - dont understand all the hand-wringing over one guy in the secondary when our offense is literally based on everybody eating from all WRs to RBs to TEs

I agree.  I get the feeling from interviews that the Bills are much more aware of the need to change things up in the playoffs.   They seem to have very purposefully rested players and backed off on the offensive and defensive play calls when they could, especially in the last month.    Having the division wrapped up at Thanksgiving certainly helped!   It’s a definite advantage not being in must win games every week till the last game of the  season.

I’m hopeful, like KC always seems to do, they are able to turn it up a notch and pull out new twists to their game plans to keep each opponent guessing.

1) Defense wins championships

2) Sean Payton is a proven coach

3) The Bills are a darling and a major favorite but the media can't simply spin it off as a pointless game because they need to keep their jobs

The way the Bills play they can get sloppy or sleepy. The Broncos could catch some luck and catch us like the Skyler Thompson year.

All season long we’ve been a second half team.

We seem to need to be punched before we get rollling.

This would be a great time to start just coming out hot from the get go.

Broncos and Baltimore are not comeback teams.

Lots of Bronco fans here are really glad to see Bo Nix become a capable QB.  They have been extremely worried about making the playoffs.

They are relieved to get there after the last few weeks.  They think that getting to the playoffs with a rookie QB is a great first step.

Most are rational about the Bills game.  Of course they are hopeful, but they know the situation.

They have gone through a group of head coaches and quarterbacks in the last 9 years and believe they have that fixed.

I think the team feels the same way and I bet they play loose with nothing to lose in Buffalo.  Bills are probably aware of that.

The 1st quarter will tell a lot.

Exactly.  It's been the mantra all season.  Play calling got a little vanilla on both sides after the division was clinched.

I'm expecting a different looking team then the one we've seen lately.
