Correct.  Also, they were a moronic Jonathan Taylor play (at home) from having their playoff control taken from them in a very meaningful game just a few weeks ago vs the Colts.

I agree, they have flaws... and a rookie QB... we have flaws as well... playoffs is a new game... the Bills bring it for 60, get a turnover or 2 hold them to some field goals.. this one wont be in doubt... play like we did against the Bengals in the divisional game...  we have problems... but in the end... if you cant beat the Broncos at home in a WC game with a rookie QB... you probably werent winning it all ... just my take.

Now Aaron Quinn and cover 1 are trying to lower expectations and " it's okay guys, it's not a failure if we don't win the super bowl"

This is just weird Marvin Lewis vibes

It's okay to hold the organization accountable and be honest. It's unacceptable having Josh Allen and not going to multiple super bowls.

We can also enjoy the success and teams winning pedigree. Not mutually exclusive.

It's not acceptable to keep getting bounced. Again big Ben 3 super bowl appearances in his first 7 Years. Allen is in year 7

Burrow year 2, super bowl appearance

Mahomes year 2 starting, super bowl appearance

Mcnabb, year 5 super bowl appearance

Staubach multiple super bowls

Stabler year 5 super bowl appearance

Marino year 2 super bowl appearance, year 3 AFC championship appearance

Eli 2 super bowl appearances in first 8 years

Young year first 4 years super bowl appearance

Brady duh

Hurts and Stafford super bowl appearances

Like this is not acceptable if McDermott dumps all over himself. It's a terrible terrible sign

Elway 3 super bowl appearances in his first 7 Years

In college, I assume you mean?

We do have a punt returner McDermott trusts on the practice squad.  But it was initially reported we got out of the game with no injuries, and McDermott didn't sound too concerned about Codrington's hammy today, so let's hope his treatments go well and let's see what Wednesday brings

I'm pretty sure he has returned some for the Bills

Agreed.  Hyde was consistently the best "punt catcher" on the team, and also had some return ability.  When McD was most concerned about "not effing up" as opposed to "making something happen", Hyde was usually back there.

Just catch the ball and don't let it roll! Please!!!

You’re right of course - you are

but Mahomes was a freak of nature in previous seasons. And he was the main reason Josh never got there.

it’s not like we weren’t knocking on that door big time

I can say with 100% certainty that if they can’t beat the Broncos at home in a WC game with a rookie QB they aren’t winning it all.

Correct. Context is important here. Did Big Ben ever defeat Brady to reach a Super Bowl ? I don’t believe he did. Could be wrong, but I don’t remember him doing so. Good luck brings opportunity. Bad luck can bite you in the A$$

If the Bills and Ravens both win on WC weekend, then you will probably get your wish. A game with Allen and Jackson most likely goes to primetime.

SNF for sure.

I think the league preference would be to give Baltimore an extra day rather than give the Bills one less day.

Well there’s certainly pressure, as there should be. It comes with expectations, even if this year wasn’t projected to be a great one for the Bills. When you have a superstar at QB, the bar should be high. I don’t care what Aaron Quinn has to say about it, though. He’s entitled to his opinion, but that’s about it. We can’t even say what was / would be a failure and what wouldn’t as we don’t know what hat happened or how. It’s not unreasonable to say that anything less than an AFC title game appearance is an underachievement. Regardless of preseason expectations, the Bills have earned the 2 seed. They will play at home for at least two games if they advance. They should reach the title game and play for the right to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl.

Dick had to be the most boring guy in the NFL.

I’ve heard McDermott use it too. Waiting for him to use the ol’ “took the sails out of our wind”.

The whole lowering expectations vibe from the "fan media" is a little weird but also doesn't really have any meaning. I promise this group of players and coaches will not consider this a successful season if it once again ends without at least a trip to the Super Bowl. The players and coaches have been hinting at this all season in their media appearances.

Fwiw lower bowl seats are going for fairly low prices on resale sites. That could mean a younger and loud/ rowdy crowd. It could also mean a sizable number of Broncos fans in house.

Big Ben never defeated Brady. It’s the only reason he made it those super bowls.

as long as you have a Mahomes or Brady in the way, every other team is going to have to scrape by to maybe get a one off SB appearance. Otherwise, it will be the chiefs there most every year. That’s just the reality of having a player like a Mahomes or Brady to deal with.

Common knowledge is that A LOT of the reason the Bills sack allowed % is so low is thanks to the legs and feet of Joshua Patrick Allen. The OL contributes to that and it is a good line but lets not pretend the Bills OL are the Hogs or the 91 Cowboys' line.

LOL! Common knowledge, I think your common knowledgen is a condescending way of saying you know.

Completely agree.

The Defense is healthy for the first time going into the Playoffs.  That's always been the excuse, right?   Somewhat valid too.. but now what's it going to be if they let us down?  Just not good enough?

They Paid Oliver, they're going to pay Rousseau, they'll want to pay Bernard, they'll probably pay Benford, they paid Johnson, they traded for Douglas.

They drafted a DT in RD3, drafted a Safety in RD2, drafted another LB in RD3 two years ago.

I'm not saying this is some elite Defense.  I am saying they are healthy, and should have enough for a Defensive minded HC to finally show us why it makes sense to have him leading this team when it matters.
