The Ravens took their foot off the pedal.  It was 24 - 10 at half and 38 - 10 at the end of the 3rd quarter.

People see 38-0 over KC and the Nix throws against Cincinnati and are really hyping them up.  Nix has been good though, can't deny that.  I watched Denver win at Tampa earlier in the season and he really did a great job with short passing to move the chains.

 

Bottom line, KC really mailed that one in.  29 first downs to 5.  Total yards 479 to 98.  Wentz sucks.  It's funny to look at the Chiefs board and their bickering with Denver fans.  KC fans are saying we "chose to let you in", "be grateful and humble about it".  They want Denver fans to bow down to them because they allowed the Broncos to enter the playoffs in order to block Joe Burrow.    Chiefs fans online can be pretty obnoxious.

I know it’s mentioned a million times, especially regarding the playoffs, but the game will be won in the trenches. Our offensive line needs to keep Josh clean and our defensive line needs to chase Nix all over the field, never let him get comfortable. We do this and we win comfortably. If not, we could be in for a down-to-the-wire finish.

I have a family commitment that starts 30 minutes after kickoff and is about 20 minutes away.  I told my wife before the schedule came out that there was ONE time slot I didn't want - and that's the one the Bills got.  Fortunately, the commitment is fairly short.   I guess the DVR will come in handy and I'll have to bob and weave to avoid talking to people for a couple of hours.  Everyone knows I'm a huge Bills fan and will naturally want to tell me how the game is going.  Will also have to turn off the phone, the smart watch, etc.  At least, from the team's perspective, It's better than Monday night, as they'd lose a day of preparation for the next round.

 

The Broncos are playing well and will present a challenge, but the Bills should prevail at home against the last team in, and the one with a rookie QB.  The Broncos should not be taken lightly, but if the Bills play their game, they should win.

We played 5 common opponents.  Both teams got blown out by the Ravens.  Bills were 4-0 vs. Full strength Chiefs, Colts, Jets, and Seahawks, total Bills margin in those games was +43.  Bronco's split 2-2 against the same 4 teams with a margin of +11.  Biggest outlier was the Seahawks, where Bills won by 21, Broncos lost by 6.

I mentioned in the games thread yesterday I expected a lot of ‘experts’ to pick Denver despite the Bills being such big favorites and today I’ve seen a lot of the media guys picking Denver, or at least leaning that way.

 

Orlofsky did have some interesting things to say about why their D matches up well with Buffalo

If the Bills and Ravens both win on WC weekend, then you will probably get your wish. A game with Allen and Jackson most likely goes to primetime.

It will be a tough match-up - but this is classic recency bias from the media.  While the Bills mailed it in yesterday, KC legit didn't show up at all.  Nix looked fantastic and the offense looked unstoppable.

 

I think they only way Buffalo loses at home is by losing the turnover battle.  We're a better team, with a much better QB.

EDIT:   He did our game against Miami in September.  We were only called for 1 penalty.

Define “a lot of experts”

 

I read that as you think most experts will choose Denver, which isn’t true. Are there going to be some that choose Denver? Sure, you are very rarely going to see the experts all pick one team in the playoffs.
