DrPJax Posted Sunday at 10:43 PM Posted Sunday at 10:43 PM Somebody had to be stupid enough to be the sacrificial lamb after Belicheck. I mean, who would follow a hof HC WITH 6 rings , after the HOF goat qb is long gone , and thinks this is a great resume building chance? Guy wasn’t too bright taking that job. 🤣🤡. Esp as a first time HC. AS WELL? Pretty predictable, and I bet it wasn’t said but implied, don’t lose the first pick. 😀. Crazy situation , quickest fire after a season ending win? Didn’t even let him go out tonight to enjoy things. Man, Nix is gaining a lot of confidence today. KC look lost w wentz. Who again proves he’s washed. That Denver d is fast. Not our strength as we are not a speed team But we have a huge qb advantage. I just hope Babich doesn’t let nix scramble all day and not be aggressive against a rookie qb in his first playoff game away from home. Pressure now shifts to Mcd, Babich, Brady imo. ( nix is scrambling like crazy , two long scrambles negated by penalties ). I hope Mcd is up to this. 😊 Quote
SageAgainstTheMachine Posted Sunday at 10:44 PM Posted Sunday at 10:44 PM The Pats talked Mayo up like he was the new face of the franchise and gave him one 4-13 season with possibly the worst roster in the NFL, the definition of an empty pantry. That is dysfunction right there. 2 Quote
pigpen65 Posted Sunday at 10:46 PM Posted Sunday at 10:46 PM LOL. Couldn't wait till tomorrow and make it less obvious that you actually fired a coach for winning a game? That cheating B word Kraft has lost it. 2 Quote

H2o Posted Sunday at 10:48 PM Posted Sunday at 10:48 PM Mayo knew the assignment and said, "Eff you, you play to win the game." 2 Quote
VaMilBill Posted Sunday at 10:49 PM Posted Sunday at 10:49 PM I think the obvious answer is Vrabel. But did see a report that Ben Johnson would be interested in the NE job 1 Quote

PastaJoe Posted Sunday at 10:52 PM Posted Sunday at 10:52 PM They’ll hire Joe Brady to hurt the Bills. 🤨 1 Quote

Chaos Posted Sunday at 10:58 PM Posted Sunday at 10:58 PM NFL organizations are faced with tough decisions. Depends on the framing of the issue. If the judgement is "Vrabel is better than Mayo" and the judgement is "Its not or never for Vrabel", then its not a dysfunctional decision to replace him. The patriots don't exist to give Mayo a chance to "prove himself". Vrabel iwhtout the benefit of a Top QB, made it to the playoffs a handful of times, losing to the Chiefs, and Bengals and Ravens. Once in a championship game. If he had been a Bills coach this track record would be considered irreplaceable by many Bills fans. 1 Quote

I don’t think he was that great a coach but man, there’s been plenty more coaches given a longer leash whilst doing a worse job with more talent. Thought he’d be given another year seeing as the ties to the organization he has and the fact they’re clearly in a rebuild year with a talent lacking roster. My guess would be he knew he was gone in favor of Vrable so he said “screw you!” On the way out. 2 Quote
dorquemada Posted Sunday at 11:01 PM Posted Sunday at 11:01 PM buddy of mine in Boston who used to work in the Pats org says that they were all losing their minds today screaming at the tv to tank the game. just hilarious, history doesn't usually grant this level of schadenfreude so quickly 2 Quote
stevewin Posted Sunday at 11:02 PM Posted Sunday at 11:02 PM (edited) I know there's a lot of people here that like him, but at least Vrabel will help feed my hate for that organization in its current state (which has become harder since they are such a pathetic trash insignificant org now) - I personally can't stand the meathead Edited Sunday at 11:09 PM by stevewin 1 Quote
Ethan in Cleveland Posted Sunday at 11:02 PM Posted Sunday at 11:02 PM Racist bull#### again. Black head coach gets one year and then is labeled as difficult. Just like Brian Flores. Another white retread will get hired after a sham Rooney rule interview. 1 2 Quote

Yeah how could they let go of a guy that won 4 games as head coach, the 4th an utter disaster in that it cost the 3 draft spots. We like go clown on McD for bad game management but this is like an order of magnitude worse than anything he's done I'm assuming you're trolling here bc any other explanation would require that you're pretty dumb Quote
