The Dough Boy has been a goner for weeks even if Mayo stayed. When your head coach publicly throws that OC under the bus, it’s never good - just ask Ken Dorsey Quote

But he does deserve some credit for the job he did with Drake Maye 17 minutes ago, K-9 said: Better for us if they hire Vrabel instead of Ben Johnson imo. Not so sure about that. Vrabel is a good head coach and he runs a good program. He’ll find players that will play hard for him. Plus he’s never really had a franchise QB. Its unknown how Johnson will be as a HC Quote

BillMafia716ix Posted Monday at 01:53 AM Posted Monday at 01:53 AM Let him bring on Vrabel so he can hire another crappy OC. Preferably Ken Dorsey lol 1 Quote

He was already in the building for nearly 15 seasons (player and coach) and you gave him a clause that automatically made him head coach… I couldn’t believe they didn’t even interview an outside candidate after letting BB go. Insane, if had been McDaniels, I would have at least understood it. Nothing about Mayo made sense Quote

Ben McAdoo, Freddie Kinchens, Antonio Pierce all comes to mind. Mayo is in that group, easily. 1 Quote

Meddling owner who was for some reason for 2-3 years talking of Mayo talking over. Why ? He’s been a limited experience lb coach. Now suddenly after one year he’s convinced he’s a bad choice. Did they even interview other candidates last year? They have the QB right, otherwise a bottom 5 roster in the NFL. Quote

It is interesting to have put so much confidence in a person that hasn’t really professionally done much outside NE (“Belicheck way”). I would think it makes for an HC that doesn’t have much outside expertise to pull from when inevitably adapting is needed. 1 Quote
BRH Posted Monday at 11:22 AM Posted Monday at 11:22 AM I don’t like in-game coach interviews, but when Mayo was interviewed between the 1st and 2nd quarter yesterday, I remember thinking “he’s not good at this at all.” Like he was trying to be Belichick, acting dismissive of the question. I wish I could remember the question and response. Then last night they did the same interview with Kevin O’Connell and he looked into the camera, smiled, and actually answered the question. I’m not saying Mayo had to be bubbly, but he hasn’t done anything to warrant being the gruff old ball coach who can’t be bothered with media demands (no matter how ridiculous). In a way he reminded me a bit of Greggo and St. Doug. And apparently — not unlike them — he’s had problems all season with the media part of his job. I sympathized with him a bit yesterday though. He had a pretty good idea what was coming and probably didn’t want to say anything that would get him in trouble. Quote
Sweats Posted Monday at 11:36 AM Posted Monday at 11:36 AM Well, the Bills just need to get Mcdaniels fired in Miami and have the trifecta in the AFCEast.........that'll be all 3 gone. I can't remember a time when all 3 HC's were fired from a single division in one season. That would be one hell of a record for the Bills on their resume. Quote
