It was clear that McD wanted to lose this game and he accomplished that task.

The Patriots winning cost them the #1 pick and dropped them to #4. That’s like losing an entire first round pick (in value). It would cost that much, if not more, to move from #4 to #1.

Putting from the 35 was the chefs kiss.

Just an absolute idiotic game by the Pats to screw themselves out of the #1 pick...

Pats message board having a meltdown:

- "This was a pathetic performance by the Pats. They played most of their starters on offense except Maye. The Bills played back ups and third stringers. The Bills weren’t trying to score. The Pats could only win by a TD. Sad.

The Bills played like they were playing for the #1 overall pick. They were clearly tanking to make sure the Pats didn’t get it. Yet, the Pats decided you cannot tank for the #1 pick.

It isn’t as bad as the Giants last week because they desperately need a QB, but pretty bad."

- "Morons. Absolute morons.

Bye bye trading down for a haul. Bye bye Travis Hunter. Hello another 4-13 year."

We were wondering, if we just fumbled the ball intentionally, would they fall on it?

That was one silly ass game!

it was weird rooting for them

We have the Dolphins game coming up. I’m medicating as I type.

Hoping the Bills lose, plus the Dolphins and Pats win is just bad for my system.

I agree. As I was watching the game, I couldn’t help but hope that would be the outcome. I know that’s the logical answer but it’s hard to not want the Bills to win. I didn’t want them to lose necessarily but had zero issue with a punt from the 35. The Pats are going to be the 2nd best team in the division soon. It’s nice to be able to take away assets in a way. The 1st overall pick would have been an accelerant to their rebuild. They are still going to get good players and have the most cap space in the league. I agree though that the value lost for them today is equivalent to more than a 1st. That holds especially true if a QB separates themselves in the pre-draft process.

All kidding aside, one has to wonder why the Pats could have allowed or even remotely wanted that outcome.

All the players wanted that outcome. And they are on the field controlling the effort towards that outcome. Pats fans have no perspective at all.

You can hope for Miami to lose and the Broncos to win.

Not if they keep drafting as poorly as they have been.  And the jury is still out on Maye.  I remember the hype around Mac Jones after his rookie season as well.
