I think he could be the piece that we hoped that Von was going to be. He could be this teams Reggie White to GB move. Only 29 still. However I would not be willing to give up a #1 for him. One of our seconds for sure, but what else would it take? Assuming they would even move him of course.

So you started a thread to say you’d like the reigning DPOY, Myles Garrett, but wouldn’t give up even one late first round pick for him? Wow. That’s absurd.

The problem if you do that is that with Von likely being gone, Epenesa being gone, Smoot on a one year deal and no draft picks before the 4th rnd, you are probably going to find yourself problematically thin at DE next year

It would be thin but you do have a returning Soloman, and they could sign a jag to go along with the ends.

Personally, I’m good with not making any splash moves but if they did do one, a player like Garrett would be the one I’d make a move for.

I’d like to trade for Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison, but I’m thinking I wouldn’t go higher than a 4th.

I’m that kid in class who didn’t really read the book. Can you tell me how it ends?

Yes.

We didn't get Garrett. Then, later we asked again.  We still did not get Garrett.

But the kids had fun, so it was fine

The Cliff notes version says we'll pass on the splash move and stay the course with our current jags.

What will Groot cost? I don’t think he’s a jag.

Would love for it to happen even though it's a huge longshot.  I agree he that could be the missing piece we need to catapult us to being a true Super Bowl team.  I'd absolutely give up multiple firsts for him.  Make that trade and use a 2nd or possibly even a 3rd to bring in a dominant 1Tech DT and it could completely transform this Defense.

Wishful thinking for sure though

Jarred Allen was 2 or 3 years younger and cost a 1 and 2 3s a while back.  He was also the NFL sack leader at the time.  Has Garret ever been the sack leader?

Based on the above, I'd think you could get Garrett for a first, a second, and a later pick or picks in the following draft.

I don't think Cleveland is looking to move him, but they might have to consider that kind of value, especially as they will need a QB and to rebuild some.

I obv wish we got him prior to the deadline (altho hilariously maybe we don't lose a other game all season with him, which just means the Rams game, but we'd not even be the 1 seed!) but unless another top pass rusher is there, I'd do it this off season.

I think there are a couple 1 techs we could sign who will be available to compliment Garrett, Ed, Groot as our starting four.  MCDs system would look a lot better and our line backers would fill up the stat sheet.

Not to mention our third down d would improve from what, 29 or so, to say 12-16 at the worst.

Hey he had back to back 16 sack seasons in 21 and 22 and only 14 in 23 and 24.... some would say he has clearly lost a step 😁

Um...I'd trade our 1st in a second for him. What are the odds our pick will be more impactful than him?

The Browns would be crazy to trade him. But how crazy would it be for him to request a trade to a contender? Not that crazy. That is a toxic wasteland.

You may not.

The entire Bills organization would though.

agree.  I’d trade 1 or 2 firsts for him.  And , a decent amount of the positions we need to fill can generally be found later (rb, 1 tech, cb, lb).

No he's not a jag, but he's far from elite.  He's having a good year especially the pressures & TFL count. I'm guessing with the help of overthecap.com that Greg's market value will be in the 18- 22M/yr range. Having both him and Garrett would be a very expensive combo and probably not realistic. One or the other?

It would start at two 1’s probably.

Many a time starting DEs have been sent for a 2nd round pick...I wouldn't hate ourselves if we can get him for our 1st and a 4th (since we don't have a 3rd)

If you could get Garrett for our first and a fourth, you would be stupid to not do it. Legitimately.

He’s not just a starting DE, he’s a superstar EDGE and he also isn’t in a contract year. If he does ever get moved, it will be closer to the Mack package (2 1sts, a 3rd and a 6th for Mack, a 2nd and a 7th), than a Montez Sweat package (2nd round pick).

Honestly, he's one of the few "non QBs" that would start at an Elite QB trade package. Think of what the Browns gave up for Watson. I'd say close to that at minimum. And then a new contract for Garrett, most likely.

Dumbest move Cleveland made outside of the move to Baltimore. Where is Watson today, or for that matter where is Waldo?

Cleveland can have him. We have very good edge rushers that can break down(when they read properly) and stop the run. We can some serious beef at DT 1/2, like three fitty beef!!
