I understand that dynamic if the relationship is really that toxic, but sometimes bros get in arguments too. A Daboll reunion with Allen is not a bad thing so long as McD/Daboll can make it work.

To the greater point however...Daboll isn't good. Josh Allen covered a lot of his flaws and basically got him a HC job. Outside of a luck filled rookie HC season Daboll has been bad... especially since taking back play calling from Kafka. I wouldn't want Daboll back here under any circumstances.

I disagree. Daboll helped Josh become what he is today. I also like that Daboll would be a semipermanent solution. His offense would be the same and nobody would hire him out from underneath us.

I'm talking as a play caller. And yes I'm sure Daboll helped Josh. There really isn't any way for us to measure how much or in what ways he specifically helped. You could throw a lot of guys on a list that "helped".

If Pegs is willing to pay JB he may stay on board, make him assistant HC,

Make him the Head Coach and get him all the helpers so many on here seem to think McD needs.

Dark Horse candidate in Davis Webb, QB Coach, Broncos.  Bills had asked him to be QB coach prior to Brady coming aboard.  Very good relationship with Josh and worked past 2 years under Payton in Denver.

Daboll righted the ship right after Rick Dennison crashed it. I won’t argue that Joe Brady has been Josh’s best OC to date but I’ll also admit that Daboll is better than Dorsey at the same time.

If we're not making a run at Ben Johnson, then Brady would be my next candidate. The last thing I want is Josh to have his 4th OC in 5 years.

That and the fact that you have Josh Freakin Allen (pause for effect) -----------------------------;)

You think he would want to take a job like Carolina or another like that ? Sure the money is good but if the Bills get better in the draft lets say on D and add a couple of other young up & comers no telling what they can do with this team .

They could be going to a 3 peat of SB's just saying

Think about it as Daboll let Barkley go and put all his chips on Danial Jones. Let's face it the guy just doesn't like running the ball very much and it cost him.

Now look what Barkley has done for the 13-3 Eagles with his 2000 yard season... Daboll looks like a steaming pile and I doubt he even gets looks for OC in 2025.

The Princess Bride Boo GIF by filmeditor

I loved the princess bride with my kids when they were young.  Inconceivable!  And I’m not the six fingered man.

As far as replacements for Brady, that assumes after only 1 full year Brady will get a shot.  Maybe, but it took Daboll a couple of years before he had a realistic shot.

Im hopeful we get another year out of Brady as he’s a gem.  The other consideration is some offers he may be considered, Brady may not want.  Last year, Ben in Detroit passed on interviewing for one of the jobs as he wanted the right opportunity.  The one that looks entertaining for a HC candidate is Chicago.  They have a lot of young talent, a QB, who needs developing, and $ to spend.  If the ownership family were smart, they take an experienced previous leader like Vrabel, Rivera, or before he went to. UNC BB. They don’t just need an innovator, they need a leader that can shape the culture.

Good question.

If the rumors are false about Daboll & McD then if he gets canned in NY, which I doubt, I wouldn’t put it past him returning.

Realistically that’s a tough call. Maybe they promote within and give Lubrick a shot? He’s been on the team since Sean’s arrival.

Personally, I wouldn’t be opposed to Klint Kubiak if he isn’t retained by the new HC in NOLA.

Ben Johnson, the ultimate hope, is a pipe dream.

Daboll and McDermott are not in good terms. It was evident in the post-game handshake last season.

Ben Johnson is coming here only if he is a replacement for McDermott.

Go Bills !!!

Came here to say the same thing. Joe Brady is also from the Sean Payton tree, so aside from his relationships already in the building, Davis Webb likely provides a good amount of continuity as well.

We were one of three or four teams that interviewed Thad Lewis last year. With Baker's numbers he is going to get looks again from teams looking for OCs but I am a bit nervous about the Bills going with a rookie playcaller after the Dorsey experience. I'd like someone who has done it before ideally.

Klint Kubiak would be on my list although I think that would mean some schematic change but I think I worry less about that. I'd want someone who has a good offensive brain and energy.

Doug Pederson will be out there as a vet playcaller but his star is on the wane and his personality is still a problem. Daboll likewise but I can't see either he or McDermott being keen on that reunion.

We could do a lot worse than Pederson. I actually like that thought as he could stick around for awhile.

Pederson should be considered radioactive after how badly his last two teams, and their offenses, have regressed during his tenures.

Assuming Brady takes good buddy Ron Curry with him they likely go outside.

My preference is a guy with a lot of offensive experience that likely won’t get head coach consideration.

The guy I’m looking at is Doug Pederson.

he's run 2 first round QBs' careers off the rails....why not make it 3?!

Kevin Stefanski

Stefanski looks like he’ll be staying in Cleveland. Dorsey on the other hand……

Not that I’m advocating for that.

The year before Pederson, Jacksonville ranked 32nd in points. His first year they ranked 7th. Eagles went from 20th to 9th to 1st.

He hasn't been able to maintain a high level of success after that initial surge. He's not HC material. He doesn't have the personality for it. But he checks a lot of boxes. Worked with some great minds, has a had a lot of success in the league, and won't be poached immediately.

Fair enough breakdown there.
