The 9 Isles Posted Saturday at 10:08 PM Posted Saturday at 10:08 PM I’ll start, I think the Lions QB coach, Mark Brunell. Former player of Jaguars fame, smart and has gotten a lot out of Goff. I’m assuming he will follow Ben Johnson wherever he ends up. Coaching Josh Allen might change his mind and get him a HC sooner though. I hope Brady stays, some continuity would do wonders for the Bills but HC opportunities for assistants coaching elite QBs is an annoying byproduct of success. https://www.detroitlions.com/team/coaches-roster/mark-brunell 1 Quote

GunnerBill Posted Saturday at 10:26 PM Posted Saturday at 10:26 PM We were one of three or four teams that interviewed Thad Lewis last year. With Baker's numbers he is going to get looks again from teams looking for OCs but I am a bit nervous about the Bills going with a rookie playcaller after the Dorsey experience. I'd like someone who has done it before ideally. Klint Kubiak would be on my list although I think that would mean some schematic change but I think I worry less about that. I'd want someone who has a good offensive brain and energy. Doug Pederson will be out there as a vet playcaller but his star is on the wane and his personality is still a problem. Daboll likewise but I can't see either he or McDermott being keen on that reunion. 2 1 Quote
Buffalo_Stampede Posted Saturday at 10:34 PM Posted Saturday at 10:34 PM Assuming Brady takes good buddy Ron Curry with him they likely go outside. My preference is a guy with a lot of offensive experience that likely won’t get head coach consideration. The guy I’m looking at is Doug Pederson. 1 1 Quote
BuffaloBillyG Posted Saturday at 10:36 PM Posted Saturday at 10:36 PM (edited) Bills like to promote from within. My best guess would be Ronald Curry or DJ Mangas. Edited Saturday at 10:37 PM by BuffaloBillyG 1 1 Quote
UKBillFan Posted Saturday at 10:37 PM Posted Saturday at 10:37 PM This is one issue with having a defensive HC in charge of a franchise with a future HoF QB. The possibility of no stability in the offensive coaching room because they'll be headhunted (or, in Dorsey's case, fired for not meeting expectations). What's the odds on the Bills following the pattern from before and promoting Ronald Curry? 1 Quote

Mahomes has basically played in the same exact offence since he started in the league, that experience is an immeasurable asset. 2 Quote

The Bills need to hire a former failed offensive HC so they don’t have to worry about them getting poached. 1 Quote

Cheektowaga Chad Posted Saturday at 10:55 PM Posted Saturday at 10:55 PM I don't know if Brady will get a head job this off season But Doug Peterson could be the bills offensive version of Steve spagnolo Wonder what kind of relationship with McDermott from their time in Philly he has Quote
Sojourner Posted Saturday at 10:57 PM Posted Saturday at 10:57 PM Good question. If the rumors are false about Daboll & McD then if he gets canned in NY, which I doubt, I wouldn’t put it past him returning. Realistically that’s a tough call. Maybe they promote within and give Lubrick a shot? He’s been on the team since Sean’s arrival. Personally, I wouldn’t be opposed to Klint Kubiak if he isn’t retained by the new HC in NOLA. Ben Johnson, the ultimate hope, is a pipe dream. 1 Quote
frostbitmic Posted Saturday at 11:03 PM Posted Saturday at 11:03 PM It really doesn't matter, Josh will make them the next hot OC being interviewed for HC jobs like he did Dabol and Brady, and OC Dorsey. 4 Quote

Ben Johnson, the ultimate hope, is a pipe dream. It didn't seem like a love fest at the end of the McD-Daboll era. They didn't openly criticize each other but the expression, "damn with faint praise" comes to mind. I would be surprised if McD ever brought Daboll back. I just hope Brady doesn't leave. While I find issue with some of his playcalling and the design of some of his passing concepts - it's hard to argue with his results. It took him a while to put together a viable offense that gets the most out of a motley group of NFLers. I'd hate for a new OC to come in and start over again from scratch. 1 3 1 Quote
