HIT BY SPIKES Posted Saturday at 09:52 AM Posted Saturday at 09:52 AM Meaningless Game = Meaningless Menu . Normally, with the cold weather, I would be making CLAM CHOWDER for New England games. However, I am fighting a cold/cough/flu and between The Feast of Seven Fishes I made on Christmas Eve and the Sushi, Maki, California Hand Rolls, Vietnamese Cold Rolls and Steamed Dim Sum Dumplings I made for New Year's Eve, I have had enough fish for a while. BAKED BOSTON BEANS are always fun however with one of the flu systems I am just getting over, I can't trust the true nature of my flatulence. So I think I will need to focus on the two large leftover lamb thighs I made on New Year's Day and I am thinking sandwiches and soup. NOT thrilling by any means however neither will the game be. What's on your plate? 2 1 Quote
Bills fan since 87 Posted Saturday at 10:21 AM Posted Saturday at 10:21 AM To start and end ever NFL regular season I do homemade nachos. I remember a week 1 when I was a kid back in the late 80s my dad made simple nachos with tortillas chips, dollop a of salsa on them and melted mozzerella. That's it. But it has evolved over the years for me and try different things. Tomorrow I'll be doing them in the smoker, with pulled pork, chilis, onion, cheddar/mozzarella mix, fresh jalepenos, tomatoes and black olives. With a homemade blackbean and corn salsa on the side. Also per my recent tradition I'll have a shot of Jameson waiting for the moment Scott Hansen and Red Zone come on the air for the final time (as I do for week 1) before quickly switching to the Bills game 2 Quote

Marlton Bills Posted Saturday at 11:33 AM Posted Saturday at 11:33 AM Hope you feel better Spikes! I’m thinking since the game plan is likely simple maybe just a grinder from Lee’s Hoagie House. 1 Quote
BillsPride12 Posted Saturday at 01:46 PM Posted Saturday at 01:46 PM This game is pretty much a glorified exhibition game for the Bills this week. Not putting in much effort. Might pick up a Wegmans sub 1 Quote

Just an anchor of a sub. 1 1 Quote
Whites Bay Posted Saturday at 02:24 PM Posted Saturday at 02:24 PM I'll probably go with an uninspiring meal for an uninspiring game. Weather's supposed to "moderate" up here per NWS, so I'll invite my uncle down for grilled Italian sausage patties on pretzel rolls, with a side of steamed broccoli seasoned with olive oil and a little sauteed garlic and sliced almond. Not very imaginative, but these ain't the playoffs. And I don't want to be standing around outside TOO long next to the grill. 1 Quote

What's on your plate? Hope you feel better! But you deserve a day off! Because this is a meaningless game, I am actually going to do some cooking, as opposed to my normal nervous game day experience. Going to cook my mom’s clam-stuffed mushrooms. Basically like clams casino, only stuffed in mushrooms. 3 Quote
frostbitmic Posted Saturday at 03:27 PM Posted Saturday at 03:27 PM Last regular season game so I'm meeting some friends at the bar ... As of now I'm heavily leaning towards the Cajun dry rubbed wings and a cold Blue or two. This will be a game that I honestly hope they lose ... Just to screw the patriots out of the first pick. I think I care more about a preseason victory than one tomorrow so it'll be a weird day. It will be fun to watch an obvious tank job by the patriots, I can hear Benny Hill music in my head already. 3 Quote

PonyBoy Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago Homemade meat loaf, with some shredded cheddar infused, egg noodles on side, mixed with peas, carrots and brown gravy. Love some leftover meat loaf sandwiches for the next couple of meals. 1 Quote

For the past 3 years I have spent a month in Argentina in January/February with a large number of cousins I have there. My Father would always marinate the Baby Goat for Easter in Chimichurri Sauce -- a tradition I continue for Baby Goat and Lamb. Surprisingly, my Argentinian Cousin Leo does NOT use Chimichurri Sauce when he makes Asadio...just expensive salt and a little bit of pepper. The truth is that beef (and to a lessor extent the pork, goat and lamb) in Argentina is THE best in the world and Chimichurri Sauce would only hide that. Here in Canada I will continue to make homemade Chimichurri Sauce every couple of months because although our beef is superior than that from the U.S.A. in general, it is NOT of the elite level as that in Argentina. P.S.: I am going to be cooking local goat over an open pimento wood fire in the hills overlooking Negril Jamaica for two weeks in early February so NO charitable donations are needed. Jah Bless!!!
