I don't know if you are tongue in cheek or not. The preseason game against the Steelers was a unique one. Allen were going to play. But it rained before the game and due to wet conditions, McDermott decided to sit Allen, but the rest of the starters played (Maybe Von was out too). I saw the same Trubisky as he were with the Steelers.

Probably extension was to ensure he was here for training camp next year and off-season activities without having to compete with teams if he hit FA.

What is his starting record and how many teams has he led to the playoffs?  What do you expect to have as a backup?

It's a completely different identity to come off the bench. Don Strock for the dolphins in the 80a Was like this. 

 

Coming off the bench he can absolutely get it done 

 

Frank Reich was kinda similar. He had a great feel for being a number 2. 

 

I thought the same about Trubisky.  However, he hasn't really shown anything when he has played.

If he plays the 1st half of the Pats game, he needs to show something with this team.

He was elevated a couple times only to not be active.  The Bills do that to players on the PS they like.

He may get a legitimate chance to be #2 next season.

None of us know how well he looks in prepping the D for opposing QBs and how well he is bonding with Josh.

It is an interesting move.  I like it.
