Bills sign QB Mike White to active roster and give him a 1 year extension

Trubisky has better career numbers than Frank Reich. Now do I think prime frank was better? Yes. But dude trubisky has played in multiple playoff games, has won a lot of games. You can do a lot worse than tribs. 

 

White is the emergency QB for the playoffs obviously 

 

Tribs has two full years starting, getting his team to the playoffs and two starting seasons with a passer rating of 93 and 95.

 

He's also a QB with really good mobility which can be the difference in an emergency situation where Allen got a minor concussion and isn't allowed to come back in the game. 

 

Tribs can possibly get you out of a playoff game alive.

The Trubisky you described was 5 years ago. Whatever he learned behind Josh the first time around was put on display when he went to Pittsburgh and it showed he's behind backup types of Pickett and Rudolph. 

 

Maybe White is not the answer as Allen's backup. But I know Trubisky is not the answer.

I disagree. Tribs is not a starter. 

 

It's a completely different identity to come off the bench. Don Strock for the dolphins in the 80a Was like this. 

 

Coming off the bench he can absolutely get it done 

 

Frank Reich was kinda similar. He had a great feel for being a number 2.

Is that actually worth it? Id rather just keep 3 QBs. I mean I do like Will Howard in rd 5-7 but who knows

Not quite the same thing.  Telling a guy he is so good he should be a starter somewhere, as opposed to telling a guy we are replacing you as a backup.  First is a compliment, the second is not.

Because he's probably better than Mitch and Beane can cut Mitch and save some money next season toward the cap then it gave White the time to learn the Bills offensive play book . 

 

I think this weeks game will tell us all we need to know about Tribisky in the Bills offense and his future here especially if he plays and looks bad while playing the Pats . If he gets pulled for White and he does better Mitch's stay in Buffalo might be shorter than he expected .

 

I'm sure he can't have much guaranteed money in his contract .

From Bills punching bag to 3rd strike QB.  Not bad, kid!

 

I dump on Mitch a lot (low hanging fruit) , but Mike White isn't an NFL backup.  His brief career as a starter was disastrous.  He has moxie, but no QB talent.  

 

In the end, it doesn't matter: at any time, if Josh is out, the game (and season, possibly) is over with either of these guys behind Center.

As long as Mike White is on the Bills, Milano can't abuse him.  Very smart move by White's camp.
