Your Favorite (best) and worst President Ever?

You do realize that, in theory, our tax money is supposed to fund the running of our society? Wouldn't you rather have your $300 tax check go toward arming our troops in Iraq, than toward a bunch of lottery tickets, and a couple malt liquors?  Where do you think that money comes from?

Tax cuts are all good and fine at the right time.  This was not the right time.  The only real purpose they served was to get people to vote for the person promising them.

Yeah, the $2.4 TRILLION a year we are sending them isn't nearly enough. That figure is higher than the GDP of all but SIX countries on the marble. Get real.

Hmmm....what would you call someone who would subvert "societal needs" to

"corporate interests"......capitalist just doesn't sound nasty enough. <_<

Last I checked, corporations are free associations. They're also quite more democratic than the average republic: anyone who holds shares can have a say on how the company functions. Or you can choose not to associate, by not owning shares. "Subverting societal needs" has nothing to do with a corporation; providing a product to a market does. Companies who provide a valued product or service prosper, those who do not expire.

Is there something I'm not getting here, or is this just a non-starter?

Corporations have the Legal status of a single individual.

The second part is just plain silly.

Ayn Rand might approve though.

Ya! We should get all the taxes back that we have paid to the government... it's my money! I am the rightful owner!

Uh, yes actually, you are. But it's pretty sad that you are either too stupid or so thoroughly brainwashed as to apparently believe otherwise.

Let me guess; you get all worked up about what Bush is doing to your "rights" at the same time you advocate that the government should control all the money.

What the heck are you rambling about?? You know little about me, and... governemnt obviously.

Unfortunately with the fiscal irresponsibility of this admin., and our gigantic debt, and mismanaged spending of congress in the past, most of our taxes are wasted paying the Chinese etc. interest, past military debts, the Iraq War, and congresses pork barrel projects that waste billions not to mention billions in unessesary tax cuts for those who never neded it. We need accountability from the voters and our government. But if we follow and defend them like you lemmings, we will never be a government for, by and of the people.

Imagine our nation as a goverment with no income.

What would happen to:

Military and Defense:

Interest on the Debt

Health: none

Income Security:

Education, Human Resources, $722B: Education, Health/Human Services, HUD, Food/Nutrition programs, Labor Department, Soc. Sec. Admin. Legislative, Justice, State Dept., International Affairs, Treasury, Gov’t. Personnel, 20% interest on national debt, NASA (50%), Homeland Security, Agriculture, Commerce, Energy, Interior, Transportation, Environmental Protection, Army Corps Engineers, NSF, FCC, Transportation and highways, infrastructure.

Veterans’ Benefits, Housing Natural Resources: spending on water resources,

conservation and land management, recreational resources as well as

pollution control and abatement.

Yes, we need to take care of our nation, but we need elected officials to be accountable or out they go.

Uh, okay, I would never dare to doubt some one so "plugged in" as yourself, but if your figures are correct, that is just further evidence that this war in Iraq has been very poorly planned, and mismanaged, with little forsight....trying to get real AD!

The war in Iraq is a blip on the proverbial radar. If you have a family of four people, your responsibility to pay JUST the federal government annually is $24,000.00. If you're not doing that, you're actually leeching off someone else - which we'll pretend is rich people, because that's currently in vogue and it makes some people feel better to pawn responsibility off on some unseen demon.

Newsflash: $6,000 per citizen per year is entirely too much money to run ALL government entities - yet that's just what the behemoth that is Washington DC is spending annually regardless of who is running the show - and mostly because you idiots continue to waste your energy pretending there is a difference between Democrats and Republicans.

But let's keep repeating the horseshit about how there was a surplus.

...but...but...but...we need to tax the crap out of people in order to fund all of the government programs that are essential to our existence. We can't survive without government programs. <_<

I agree, let's pull the troops out of Iraq. Then we can wait for the insurgents to get visa's and green cards here. Then they can apply for welfare and public assistance housing (section 8) and they can live on our governments dime, all while planning terrorists attack against us trying to kill our children, wifes, moms, and sisters. <_<

Oh and let's make sure their rights are intact and we are not using the housing systems or welfare computers to trace their activities. Might be a violation of their right to bomb us.

Who said anything about pulling troops out of Iraq? At this point, that would be even more disasterous...maybe it is the same person who claims the Bills have, internally, already written of JP Losman as a bust! <_<
