Woody Johnson has turned into the 2000's and early 2010's James Dolan and the Jets are just as dysfunctional as the Knicks were. Any NFL team can turn things around with the right QB & O-line to protect him no matter who the owner is. It probably won't happen in 2025 for the Jets, but if they are bad enough, or get enough draft capital to move up, they can start to turn things around in 2026. Vrabel is going to a team that already has their QB, probably NE. No chance he joins the Jets with Rodgers & no QB of the future. 1 Quote

It just makes it so much harder to find the right QB and offensive line if you have a lot of dysfunction in the organization. Having a meddling owner and his cronies and yes men around the football operations of a team is just not a recipe for success. Sometimes organizations can have success in spite of a bad owner due to luck or other circumstances but if you are a coach like Vrabel who has options take the place where there's less dysfunction. That is up to the coaches and the front office. The Jets have not been patient with them..Darnold, Wilson all come to mind.. 1 Quote

He has struggled to get his team over the top...Always solid and very good in the regular season...they could beat any team..but then always choked in the playoffs (2-3 record) Getting the 1 seed with Ryan Tannehill is pretty damn impressive if you ask me. Even with Derrick Henry, that’s a taller ask than having Josh Allen IMO. 2 Quote
gonzo1105 Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago I just can’t see anyone of substance wanting this job. I know there are only 32 but I see a lot of guys passing on this job. I expect a retread not at the level of a name like Vrabel. Quote

Someone may have the stones and be willing to take on the monumental task that’s needed to turn that organization around. Two that come to mind: Brian Flores. Think he’d take enjoyment in sticking it to Miami and New England each year. Aaron Glenn. Believe he’d go back to a reunion. He was a damn good player for that team and I know they gave him the jump start to his coaching career in the pros. Big picture? I don’t think our own Joe Brady declines that option if it’s extended to him. Neither Kliff Kingsbury. 1 Quote

Flores and Kingsbury are on the high end of retread territory for me 1 Quote

Every coach had faults and he is not immune to that, but his teams were always physical and played hard. Totally agree, but I see him landing in NE. Seems made to order, but would prefer him in another division too. Quote

Dr.Sack Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago Vrabel is a good coach, but lacks the Patriot Way of willingness to record other teams practice. 1 Quote

TheFunPolice Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago I assume Vrabel will end up in NE but Kraft is now saddled with making it look like a real search. Quote
