I don’t know what’s online, but I am telling you I know first hand that I know Gruden is being discussed for multiple jobs and specifically that there is high mutual interest between the Jets and Gruden.
 

The complication is Grudens lawsuit, but that’s easily resolved if he drops the suit to get back in.  Mark my words, Gruden will be a HC either this year or next as he badly wants back on the sidelines.

Jets can hire Vrabel, and once we fire that no good sob McDermott, we can hire Ron Rivera!

Very good coach who I even want in Buffalo (if we pull a classic McD playoff exit).

 

This would be very a very un-Jets move, so hoping it doesnt happen.

 

The best thing that could happen for that team would be to hire Vrabel and Woody to go away on another diplomat assignment. Hoping it doesnt happen.

Same but opposite of McDermott.

 

He was able to actively coach and gameplan a team lead by... Ryan Tannehill at QB... to the #1 seed and a regular top team. He pulled a Belichick ON Belichick, using the rules of the game against him. He is a master of situational football.

 

His teams got beat in the playoffs because Tannehill couldnt keep up with real talent. Where as the Bills get beat in the playoffs even with the best QB/Player in the league, because our coaching cant keep up with playoff coaching.

I agree, and I know that is another place he has legitimately been discussed internally this off season already.
 

Additionally, Gruden has recently even publicly made comments about how Chicago would be a place he would want to go this year if offered the job as Gruden loves Caleb.
 

It’s not a lock he will be back this year because of the lawsuit, but I would bet money if not his year then next.  But based on what I was told, I think there is a strong chance it will be this year and it’s going to involve Gruden dropping the suit as a condition of the hiring.
 

I know Gruden badly wants back in and there are jobs he likes that are open now, like Chicago and the Jets, several of which have either already established mutual interest or expected to have interest if the suit goes away.  
 

Also, don’t be surprised if he does get hired and has some FO role as well.  Personally I think that’s a terrible idea to mix the FO in with any HC, but from what I’ve heard it could be on the table.

Rodgers is as good as gone. He will be cut/released or retire.  Which sucks for us Bills fans as it is removing one poison piece.

 

And if Woody goes back to England, and Chris Johnson takes over again, and brings in Vrabel, it would all be a huge step forward for the Jets.

Vrabel would be a really good hire but I would think/hope Vrabel wants a better situation. But coaches have egos that tell them they can be the hero of all of NYC by taking this job.

Oh the guy that took the raiders from 6-10 team to 8-8 team after 3 years? The guy that drafted Clein Ferral number 4 overall. Gruden is the most overrated coach in NFL history. He has parlayed that into legendary status for winning a super bowl in 2002 with Tony Dungy's roster

 

Him going to the Jets, with that media market would be hilarious. The only hire that might be funnier is if they hired Rex again

He was the 1 seed with Ryan Tannehil........

 

Firing Vrabel was the dumbest thing any team has done in a long time. He dealt with them trading AJ and drafting Burks, etc etc. He never had a superior team and he still won. McDermott has had a top 5 roster in the NFL for quite some time. They aren't comparable.

And the team they played in that Super Bowl was his roster in Oakland. Tony Dungy never got that team over the hump, and he did. Winning a SB is not easy - no coach in our history ever has, as we all know.

Woody isn't the ambassador this time around. Trump picked someone else.

 

As for Vrabel, I think he is a good coach. I'd worry about him more in NE than NY tho. Jets are beyond dysfunctional

It’s a job that pays you millions and you get to go a franchise that is maybe the worst in sports, next to the Sabres.  If turns them around, he’s a god. 
 

It would be a smart hire and it depends who the qb will be because he had a real qb instead of Tannehill, those Titans teams could have made the SB.
