Danger Mouse Posted Thursday at 08:02 PM Posted Thursday at 08:02 PM Mad that Payton saw his arse (got upset) about not being allowed a TD in Super Bowl XX. Yet we could be denying a bona fide legend 1.5 million bucks and a young rb his benchmark yardage. they’ll let them have it I’m sure - you can’t let people down like that in the name of a team. It goes against a team ethos. And McD knows that. Be toxic otherwise (Just a matter of whether von can manage it) Quote
Charles Romes Posted Thursday at 08:05 PM Posted Thursday at 08:05 PM Chris Jones played week 18 last year, and got a sack worth $1M. The whole bench celebrated. I bet he plays based on the jones precedent. 1 1 Quote

The whole reason he was signed three years ago was to play in the post season not in a meaningless regular season game. Even if Miller did play, likely Groot, Oliver and maybe AJ will sit, so Miller would probably be facing double teams all day. Quote

boyst Posted Thursday at 08:13 PM Posted Thursday at 08:13 PM i would say most people would ration that he wouldn't need the $1.5mm but the dude does have some baby mamas and drama that he prob needs it 1 1 Quote

I hope he and Beane could have a sensible chat about it but he might justifiably be pissed if the "opportunity" is scaled back by a game. 2 Quote

Von came here for money not Superbowls. Sure they could force him to sit, but not sure that would go over well. He was hired by the Bills to be a game closer in the playoffs. He also wanted to be on 3 different Superbowl teams. 1 Quote
Fleezoid Posted Thursday at 08:29 PM Posted Thursday at 08:29 PM Wow. Mike Evans has a real shot at 3 mil. At home against the Saints and they're playing for the division. Quote

Kelly to Allen Posted Thursday at 08:33 PM Posted Thursday at 08:33 PM Absolutely not. We have been begging for this moment. A healthy Von for the playoffs. Rest is needed. He better not play Quote

TheWei44 Posted Thursday at 08:38 PM Posted Thursday at 08:38 PM (edited) Pay him roughly the probability of getting a sack multiplied by $1.5M. Make everyone happy. Something like 33.3%* 1.5M = $500K. Problem solved! And at the same time offer new incentives, if they don't already exist, for sacks in the playoffs! Edited Thursday at 08:38 PM by TheWei44 1 Quote

I'd been working on the basis he'd be one of the vets that sat. That's an interesting question, the way it seems he's played now on a rotational basis to keep him fresh for the pass rush, it really wouldn't make any sense for him to play in a game where you rest your starters, but McDermott/Beane aren't the kinds of guys who'd screw a guy out of a pay day like that. So it's kind of a weird tug of war between giving him a shot but we wouldn't have played him anyway so it's not like they'd be trying to screw him over if he didn't. 1 Quote

Well, for what will look like a cold weather preseason game, it will be interesting to see how that plays out. How much, if any, Von will we see? So, there you go, something interesting about this game. 😊 Just now, 17islongenough said: Anyone else look at these incentives and think about parlays? Just tell him he's going to play the whole first quarter with no gap or contain responsibilities before he shuts it down for the day. Have DaQuan keep crashing the Guard to keep him out of Miller's hair and run some sets that have Cam Lewis walking down to show blitz. That is an honest effort to get the guy his sack while not unreasonably endangering his health. If he gets it, great. If he doesn't, hey we tried now let's move on. As a side note, some of you who are repeatedly ragging on a Buffalo Bill because he blew up his knee are really embarrassing. 1 3 1 Quote
