GunnerBill Posted January 2 Posted January 2 Is it regular season only? If it is maybe he plays Sunday then. I'd been working on the basis he'd be one of the vets that sat. Quote
No_Matter_What Posted January 2 Posted January 2 Yeah he has already earned $2.5M for 4 sacks and can get another $1.5M if he gets to 6. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/player/_/id/7717/von-miller Quote
Ethan in Cleveland Posted January 2 Posted January 2 Almost zero chance he dresses Sunday It makes no sense. The whole reason he was signed three years ago was to play in the post season not in a meaningless regular season game. 2 7 Quote

BillsShredder83 Posted January 2 Posted January 2 Dang, I hope he doesn't play because I want him healthy. Is it possible they work out an incentive settlement, even though it sounds unlikely. I def would've liked him on the bench, he understandably will want to play. Yikes I kinda hate this predicament at this point 1 2 Quote

Not disagreeing, but the counter argument is that he restructured his deal to make it more cap friendly to the Bills and load up on incentives because he had such a poor season last season. I suspect whether he plays or not depends on how much the 1.5M means to him. 4 1 Quote
WotAGuy Posted January 2 Posted January 2 I wonder if, when guys are held out of the final game that they had a big incentive riding on, the teams do like the sportsbooks and offer 20-40% of the incentive and cut their losses? 1 Quote
BearNorth Posted January 2 Posted January 2 Von's career earnings are $187 Million, so what's $1.5MM among friends. 1 2 1 Quote
Governor Posted January 2 Posted January 2 The entire goal for a few years was to have a healthy Von in the playoffs. He better not be out there. 5 Quote

QB Bills Posted January 2 Posted January 2 I can picture him getting the sack late in the 4th quarter Sunday then tearing his quad celebrating. Would be an appropriate end to his time here. 3 1 2 2 Quote

He's going to want to play for obvious reasons, and my guess is that McDermott will acquiesce. 2 1 Quote
gonzo1105 Posted January 2 Posted January 2 When McDermott held his Monday presser, someone asked him about Cooks 1,000 yards and he said he was aware amongst other things and they would try to achieve them if they could but they would put the team first before those individual things. When he said that I said to myself I wonder if Cook or others have incentive bonuses that are close and thought that was what he was hinting at Quote

This was my thought too...forget about the contract, the situation is that it is not good for him to play this week yet the team agreed to this incentive, I could see them agreeing to something but I think it would have to go on this years cap while the incentive will count for next year since it was not likely to be earned.
