Why root for TN win?  Wouldn’t a loss be better?

Correct lol thank you for catching that.  I knew what I meant haha Tennessee losing, is them 'winning' 😁 Freudian slip typo

So I think priority 1 to me is Pittsburgh gets the 6 seed... meaning a loss to Cinci... I would love for them to play the Ravens in the opening rd.  After that for me I think the Bronco's with a rookie QB i would prefer over all...i would prefer to not play Cinci, so I will root for a Bronco's win first, then begrudgingly for the Phins to beat the Jets.. its easier to root for Miami when they are playing NYJ....  that being said.. if you are gonna with the Super Bowl... beat whomever you are playing in week one of the tournament at home... if you dont you werent good enough to win it all... so I am not going to be freaking out regardless of the 7 seed outcome...

At least by gametime 4p Sunday, we'll know what we're cheering for with DEN/KC!

Give me Miami all day in the WC round.  I get the whole "3X in one year, any given Sunday" stuff...

But does anyone think they're actually going to come into a frigid Buffalo environment and win?

Did anyone watch their performance against KC last year?  They practically gave up the minute they got off the bus

LOL agreed but didnt feel comfy stating outright it the way you did, felt a bit like this hahaha

I’d like either Denver or Miami.  I don’t see Denver beating us with a rookie QB, and Tua can’t win in the cold assuming he plays.  I’m not really that concerned with the Bengals either TBH.  McD has slowed down the Fish with Hill and Waddle; no reason to think we can’t do the same with Chase and Higgins.  And I don’t see the Bengals D holding up against Josh at all.  I know folks are concerned about the last time the Bengals had a playoff game at the Ralph, but that Bills team had gone through so much with blizzards and Damar they just had nothing left in the tank.

#1 Most Ideal:  Bills Play MIA (MIA wins & Cinci wins). Baltimore draws Pittsburgh (my ideal draw for Baltimore).  This is a bit complicated, I wont cheer on Cinci, but would be pleased if it happens this way

#2 Ideal: Cinci Loses. While not my 'ideal' scenario, the one I'll be rooting for out of simplicity.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

--Buffalo plays the 7th seed no matter what: which can only be Denver, , Dolphins, or Bengals.  I'd prefer the Fins of the 3 teams.... so week 18 I'd be rooting for KC to beat DEN, and Fins to beat the Jets

--Cinci Loss to Steelers is easiest/most preferred, I'd rather they dont get in... however If Cinci wins,  Baltimore draws Steelers in the 1st Rd, which I like as the divisional opponent feels most likely to be able to knock them off, PLUS if the Fins Win, Cinci still misses playoffs.  So while I think that's ideal, Id rather not play with fire and let Cinci off themselves.

-Side Note: NE getting #1 or #2 overall pick.  If we beat Pats, theyre locked into #1.  However, if our backups lose (NE wins) AND the lose to HOU's backups (HOU is locked into #4 seed)... Titans get #1 overall and NE #2.  While this might not seem like a big deal, if NE gets #1 I'd expect them to trade out of this spot for a Fat Package of Draft Picks, so Let's go TN!!!

Who you guys rooting for?

While I like the idea of the steelers at 6 so they could potentially beat Baltimore, i don't think they'd stand any chance against Kansas city . While I do think the chargers could beat both teams. Think I'd prefer chargers at #6 but I'm still undecided.

Are there scenarios where we would not play Baltimore in round 2 (assuming they win in round 1)?

The only scenario is a Ravens lose to the Browns and a Steelers win over the Bengals. Problem is the Browns are tanking and starting their bottom of the barrel QBs so it’s a 99% chance that Baltimore is winning

If the Bills are Ravens are #2 and #3 respectively and they both win on WC weekend, then they are playing in the divisional round. KC would get the winner in the #4 vs #5 game which is most likely the Texans or Steelers.

I forgot about this scenario, but I would be shocked if the Ravens lose on Saturday. I think they are going to win in a blowout.

I'm sorry?    Chase + Higgins >>> Hill and Waddle.  Especially in meaningful games

Burrow  >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Tua

Also, the Bengals DC has proven he is good against the Bills.  It's not a good matchup for us.

I think Zappe is an upgrade on Thompson-Robinson, but still expect the Ravens to blow the Browns out.

I'd bet my house and my life that 100% Ravens win that game.  Just no scenario whatsoever this doesnt happen, its a guarantee!! (hopefully the football jinx gods cant detect sarcasm)

In my company's office pool, the spread is Ravens -17.5. I took the Ravens and gave the points. I think this will be a 3-score win for the Ravens.

Balt will be #3 seed - It's all about them somehow losing in WC round - I slightly prefer they play Chargers, but Pitt is a threat too, particularly as divisional rivals.

My rooting interests:

1) Den over KC

2) Cincy over Pitt

3) LAC over Raiders

that leads to:

1) buff (2)/den (7)

2) ravens (3)/steelers (6)

3) Texans (4)/LAC (5)

As you said, Steelers over ravens is our best case scenario for round 2. In my ideal world, Steelers at chiefs and Texas at bills in round 2.

Not while they play.  If they lose and Pitt loses, they would still be 3 so it won't have any impact, but Ravens play first.

Everyone, in the main doesn't want Cincinatt scraping into the Playoffs and are confident in facing Miami or Denver at Orchard Park.

For me, based on what I understand, given seeds 1 to 4 are locked in, what would be in Buffalo's interests going forward, would be having the 6th seed take out Baltimore (3rd) and have the 5th seed be defeated by Houston (4th) althought the second part of the scenario is not so important, it'd be nice to avenge the week 5 loss.

I am not sure who is better placed to take down Batimore in Baltimore.

You've either got the Chargers (Harbaugh Bowl rematch with a different California team, would be prime time for sure) or Tomlin and the currently struggling Steelers, albeit divisional matchups are unpredictable.

Assuming both the Chargers and the Steelers win this weekend they'd both be 11-6.

I'd lean towards preferring Jim to defeat John with the Chargers going to face KC and then we facing the 4 or the 5 (Texans or Steelers) at Orchard Park.

This is a good point. Either the Steelers or Chargers would be formidable opponents in the playoffs. With the Ravens’ kicking woes thrown in, you never know…

I do not think Chase and Higgins are that much better than Hill and Waddle.  The point is that McD can scheme to slow a pair of fast WRs down.  He’s done it against the Fish.  If they do that vs. what they did against the Rams we’d be OK.

Yes Burrow is better than Tua.  And their D sucks this year.
