Do they still even go to Hawaii ?

lol no. They are in Orlando this year, which is another reason for them to blow it off and go to Cancun with the rest of the league.

Not surprised and it really does not matter.

"It really does not matter" is easy for us to say... but for the players, there is pride and recognition involved.

There can also be contractual bonuses tied up to Pro Bowl recognition.

I'm actually shocked Allen made it with Mahomes, Jackson and Burrow in the AFC too.

Yes, arguably the biggest part of the story is the exclusion of Patrick Mahomes.

Regardless of whether it's deserving or not, it's big news.

How Is Mixon over Cook a travesty?  He has more rushing yards and more receiving yards than Cook in 3 less games played.  Cook finished 7th in rushing yards, his biggest case would be the TD's, but Mixon still has 10 TD's himself, again in 3 less games.

I don't know about a "travesty" but Mixon has just 12 more rushing yards on 47 more carries and 46 more receiving yards on 13 more targets.

Fewer TDs... in a worse offense...

Yeah, Cook is more deserving than Mixon IMO.

Cook has only 58 fewer total yards in 46 fewer touches. Cook averages 5.41 yards per touch compared to Mixon's 4.71.

Cook has 17 TDs to Mixon's 11.

Corner is a tough spot.  Stingley has been lights out, as has surtain.  I'd feel wrong taking etiher off.  Humphrey has 6 picks, and 2 forced fumbles - hard to ignore those numbers.  I guess you could make the argument for denzel ward, but he's also still... very good.

Corner is tough.

As others have pointed out, ballhawking gets more votes than shutting down.

Also Stingley and Surtain have name recognition as Stingley is the grandson of Darryl Stingley and Surtain's father had a great career as a cornerback in the NFL.

In spite of being a great player, Benford is a virtual unknown... appreciated mostly by people who closely follow the Bills. He even went to a non-football school and had no national reputation as a 6th round pick.

AFC by team:

Baltimore 11-5 : 8 players

Buffalo 13-3: 2 players

Cincinnati 8-8: 3 players

Cleveland 3-11: 3 players

Denver 9-7: 2 players

Houston 9-7: 4 players

Indianapolis 7-9: 2 players

Jacksonville 4-12: 2 players

Kansas City 15-1: 4 players

Las Vegas 4-12: 2 players

Los Angeles (Chargers) 10-6: 3 players

Miami 8-8: 0 players

New England 3-13: 1 player

NY (Jets) 4-12: 0 players

Pittsburgh 10-6: 4 players

Tennessee 3-13: 0 players

Obviously, Baltimore is over represented and Buffalo is greatly underrepresented.  Cleveland, a team with 3 wins has one more pro bowler than Buffalo with 13 wins.  Looking at divisions, The AFC East is the least represented with only 3 pro bowlers.  The AFC North has 18 players the AFC South (worse than the AFC East in terms of wins and losses) has 8 players in the pro bowl.  The AFC West has 11 players.

Every year the pro bowl has less and less credibility.

Rousseau not making it in any form was a huge snub.

FWIW, the top 3 vote getters were Myles Garrett, Tre Hendrickson, and Max Crosby.

Also at Defensive End, "Danielle Hunter, who made a Pro Bowl last season with the Vikings but was boxed out in Houston. It's mind-bending. Hunter leads the NFL with 90 QB pressures, five more than No. 2, Trey Hendrickson. Hunter's 19.3% QB pressure rate is tied for No. 1 with Micah Parsons (minimum of 300 pass-rush snaps). Hunter's omission might have been less head-scratching if he had been putting up pressure and not generating any sacks -- some voters surely still cling to that metric. But Hunter has 12 sacks, two behind the NFL co-leaders (Myles Garrett, Hendrickson)."

Cook probably deserved it over Taylor, who as far as I know has been quiet up till a week or two ago (although I don’t follow the Dolts) and maybe Mixon too … Benford was up against some really good corners, and I feel like TJ has had a down year by his lofty standards

No way he was making it over Mad Max and Garrett, and I believe Hendrickson is a sack leader on an awful defense … no surprise he couldn’t crack the first team selections

But he didn't make the 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th team selections either.

Rousseau in NFL (AFC & NFC) is:

8th in pressure rate

2nd in hits

3rd in forced fumbles

7th in stops

9th in batted passes

14th in solo tackles

16th in sacks & hurries

(See below link)

That's both the AFC & the NFC. So he ranks higher in just the AFC. I get not making him 1st team, but not making it at any level, doesn't seem to fit with his stats & rankings.

Can't wait to watch Nick wright act apoplectic because Mahomes didn't get in 😂

He does have a good point that it's really odd that the highly decorated QB of a 15-1 team didn't get in.  I was shocked that he didn't get in.  I think any other year he did and if you took conferences out of it he'd pry be the 4th of the 6 QB's selected.  It's just that Lamar, Burrow, and Josh have had MVP type level seasons and they all just happened to be in the AFC.

Out of interest, who does Wright think should have missed out for Mahomes?

He would've left Allen out but made him MVP (individual statistics for pro bowl vs. team impact for MVP).  Don't ask me to go inside that warped brain.

Cheers.

Mahomes: 3928 yards, 28 total touchdowns, 11 turnovers, QBR 93.5

Josh: 3731 yards, 41 total touchdowns, 8 turnovers, QBR 101.4

Individual statistics for pro bowl?

(Sorry, know you didn't want to go into his warped mind but...)
