The four most deserving Bills after Josh this year are: Benford, Cook, Brown and Rousseau. I actually think Brown will get all pro votes. Wouldn't surprise me at all if he ended up a 2nd team all pro. Bill Barnwell’s all pro selections are up: https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/43241328/nfl-all-pro-team-2024-season-barnwell-50-best-players-picks-every-position-pro-bowl. The only Bill he selected is Allen. I can’t really disagree with his logic, though. Barnwell is not an actual AP voter, however, so it doesn’t matter. But he’s at least a very knowledgeable observer. The actual AP voters feature a lot of talking-head ex-player knuckleheads and journalist fossils: https://apnews.com/article/ap-nfl-awards-panel-e71a6a4641246b75abcca6a553bc0dab. If players drastically outperform their contracts, they get player performance bonuses and it's structured in 3 levels. He already hit the first 2 levels, level 3 would have been making the Pro Bowl. https://sports.yahoo.com/nfls-performance-based-pay-program-195831990.html It is so dumb that a Pro Bowl would be included in anything like that. It’s been detached from actual on-field performance for a long time. Quote

Interesting… And yet the Bills coaches aren't recognized as elite. So logic suggests that either the selection process is highly flawed, or one or both of those two players are so much better than the rest of the league that they've carried the entire team to a better record than the Ravens. I suspect both theories have merit. Meanwhile, Benford is the biggest snub here. His play has been All-Pro quality, not just Pro Bowl. 1 Quote

Taro Nimbus Posted Thursday at 02:45 PM Posted Thursday at 02:45 PM This is great and all, but i doubt we’ll see any of the Bills at the pro bowl, seeing they’ll have a game to prepare for the following week. 🙃 Quote
BRH Posted Thursday at 02:45 PM Posted Thursday at 02:45 PM Even the Bengals and their eight wins have more Pro Bowlers (3) than the Bills (2) but I was told Joe Brr had no help. 4 minutes ago, Process said: Good, use that as motivation in the playoffs. Quote
Process Posted Thursday at 02:51 PM Posted Thursday at 02:51 PM Dalvin has been tweeting about James getting paid a lot. Hopefully we don't have a hold out coming this offseason. Quote
MJS Posted Thursday at 02:53 PM Posted Thursday at 02:53 PM Cook should have got in. That's a snub. Benford as well, but he doesn't have the INTs to get votes, so that is understandable. Spencer Brown should be in there, but oline is always a bit random. I don't think anyone else deserves it. We have a roster of solid starters and good depth, but not much elite talent. Quote

Hopefully we don't have a hold out coming this offseason. That is a really strange tweet unless Dalvin knows about an extension that is in the works. James is under contract for one more season on his rookie deal. Personally I would let Cook walk at the end of his rookie deal and focus on other players that need deals, but I won’t be upset if they opt to keep him either. He is our first “home run hitter” in a long time. Maybe since Lee Evans or CJ Spiller. 1 Quote
Rockpile233 Posted Thursday at 02:56 PM Posted Thursday at 02:56 PM Mixon over Cook makes no sense other than name recognition, but it’s the Pro Bowl nothing new. Quote

I think we have to give him a second contract...he is becoming a very important piece to this offense and the RB room is essentially perfect in terms of different skill sets that each of them have. Truly, a motley crew. Who knows who they’ll end up picking. I'd vote for Brown over Lane Johnson. I mean I don't think Johnson is a ludicrous pick or anything but if I was voting my tackles would be: Left tackles: 1st Jordan Mailata; 2nd Tristan Wirfs Right tackles: 1st Penei Sewell; 2nd Spencer Brown. Brown might not get in. He doesn't have the name value of Johnson. But I think he will get votes. The only other Bills I expect to get votes (other than Josh obviously who will be a 1st team all pro) are Benford and possibly Rousseau and I don't think either will get enough to get into the teams. He has really taken the pressure off of Allen and gives the Bills 2 elite level playmakers on offense. 981 yards rushing with 15 TD's along with 258 yards receiving and 2 TD's. Quote

It kinda sucks Dawkins isn't getting more love...Allen has been sacked a total of 14 times, and while a lot of that is on Allen avoiding them, the protection has been fantastic and the run game has been mostly very good. 1 Quote

I think the Bills with 5 players total in the top 10, Josh the highest rated at 4... <--- #4 if you can believe that. Also interesting is no james cook and cole bishop showing up on special teams. https://x.com/TomPelissero/status/1874175185722724637 Oh Ya and it's not just the Bills. Crazy to have Patrick Ricard at fullback - he plays like 40% of the snaps - #5 in the pro bowl voting behind Carson Steele of the Chiefs (16% snaps) and Alex Ingold of the Dolphins (34% of the snaps). The Ravens have the #2 rushing game in the league, and clearly Ricard is a big part of that. The Dolphins have the 24th run game in the league and the Chiefs 16th. It's like bandwagon fans and "Oh, he's on my team, must be great!" Quote
machine gun kelly Posted Thursday at 03:26 PM Posted Thursday at 03:26 PM IDK why you guys care about the popularity contest like the players top 100. The important ones are the 1st team all pro, 2nd team, MVP, and the ROY awards, And even offensive and defensive player of the year awards. Those matter and mean something. If Allen doesn’t get the pro bowl, that should tell you everything. Quote
