Pro Bowl Voting

Interesting what the pro bowl has become.   

I think the Bills with 5 players total in the top 10, Josh the highest 

rated at 4... <---  #4 if you can believe that.

 

Also interesting is no james cook and cole bishop showing up on special teams.

The way the voting works I'm guessing Allen doesn't get in.  Players and coaches will pry give the nod to Lamar, Mahomes, and Burrow because it's always been a popularity contest.  There's other elements involved that tip the scales in those three players favor that I won't get into.  I remember Reuben Brown making it every year even though he didn't deserve it some years.  Mahomes will get in for the same reason.

 

I'm going to predict that only Dion Dawkins is selected.  Cook is pry around 40% as he'll pry come down to him, Mixon, or Chase Brown for that third spot with Taylor and Henry as locks.  His lead leaguing 15 TD's may get him in.  You could make a great case for Christian Benford but he pry doesn't have enough name recognition.

Dawkins should make it. Allen should but also can see him being first alternate. Cook will also probably be first or second alternate, not one of the top few choices. It’s always this way. Very very few Bills players get selected as top 3 picks for pro bowl spots the past 25 years or so. Started with the drought Bills and hasn’t changed much even since weve been very good. Other good teams seem to get the multiple selections.

Other than Josh, no players from the offensive side of the ball on the list. Whilst Baltimore has a WR, TE and RB. Albeit Cook should be there, interesting point to add to the discussions about Josh and Lamar's respective weapons.

Dawkins is on there.  Having a big personality like his helps when it comes to fan voting.

Yea for the fan voting section name value is huge. Dion does Cowherd and McAfee, hence he makes it. The four most deserving Bills after Josh this year are: Benford, Cook, Brown and Rousseau. I actually think Brown will get all pro votes. Wouldn't surprise me at all if he ended up a 2nd team all pro.

Yes, sorry, should have said excluding the O Line. Was thinking about the players who receive the ball.

I counted 7 Bills on that image....anyway I wish they would change how it is done because they don't get the best players and it has been that way a long time.   Everyone says it is a joke yet we talk about it every year.  Cook could be on there but there are like 15 guys with 10 plus rushing TD's and 17 ahead of him in yards.   He shares with the other two some and that hurts him.  Benford should be on there but you will never hear his name.

Also, Siran Neal and Trent Sherfield are on the special teams list.  McDermott must be stamping his feet and wringing his hands that they got away.

I am not agreeing with everything in terms of the "exact" players... but I would guess he isnt making a joke... I would say the pro bowl selections are a joke... How is Cole Bishop and despite I love him Damar on that list.... I just think it has become a popularity contest... and quite honestly I put very little stock in the selections of players any more... I dont even think they play a game.. I think they just have a week long party and play some flag football...  It is what it is I guess...
