In a game where many starters will be rested, what young player are you most interested to see play?

We need pass rushers so I'd like to see what Javon Solomon has.

Yeah I was a little disappointed with him against Tyrod.   Should have sacked him on one play where Taylor rolled left but he took a horrible pursuit angle.  He seems to have the athletic ability to be a situational rusher at least.

He was listed at 240 at his pro day.  I suspect the strength and conditioning folks got rid of some weight through diet and programs, but a 240 pound LB who can run is a rare asset to have.

Really?  I saw that on nfl.com but he was also listed at 6'0" - not sure they check the stats on the guys who aren't invited to the Senior Bowl or Combine

On June 24, Buffalo Rumbings had him at 6'1 232
The UB Bulls Roster from last year listed him at 6'1 232

I'd like to see Elam get a little confidence back.

The most important young players to see develop and play well right now are Bishop and Carter, IMO.

I'm probably most interested in seeing Cine, and the roll they put him in.

What do we think the O & D will look like by the 3rd quarter?  I'll take a stab at it:

QB: Trubisky

RB: Ray Davis, unless Frank Gore gets one of the PS callups

FB: Gilliam, and he may play a lot

TE: Morris, probably with Gilliam as TE2

WR: Hollins, Coleman, & KJ Hamler (PS callup)

LT: Van Demark

LG: SVP-G or Anderson

C : Whichever doesn't play LG

RG: Torrance

RT: Grable

DE: Solomon & Smoot, with some Epenesa mixed in

DT: 4-man rotation of Carter, Johnson, Phillips, and Jefferson

LB: Andreessen & Ulofoshio

NCB: Ingram

CB: Elam & Codrington

S: Bishop & PS callup (Jackson or Cine)

Feels like I'm off in the secondary - feels like Cam Lewis will be playing.  Maybe Ingram plays on the boundary and Cam plays nickel?

There are a few good candidates, but I'm going to go with Sedrick Van Pran Granger....I think the Bills view him as a future starter at the Center position(so do I), and I think a good start this week could be a solid foundation for pushing for a starting role as early as next season...if the Bills would be willing to move McGovern back to LG.

Which younger player are you looking forward to getting extended playing time this week??

I also would like to see SVPG get a good look.  At the start of this year when many were worried that McGovern couldn't do a good job at center, I thought we'd see SVPG moving into the starting lineup mid-season.  Well, McGovern shut that down, and David Edwards turned out to be starter-quality too.  So I am not hoping to see SVPG in the starting lineup and move McGovern back to LG.  The Bills O line is the best we've had in decades and I don't want to mess around with it.  It will be good to know whether SVPG is the guy we want as McGovern's backup.

Just wondering what the plan is at QB.  Josh starts then sits, and Trubisky takes over.  Are the Bills calling up a QB from the practice squad to be Trubisky's backup?  If Trubisky is hurt, does Josh have to go back in the game?  If he does I hope the Bills just hand it off to RBs on all three downs, then punt, every possession.

This is a game that Pats fans want to lose, and Bills fans don't care about, but that players on both sides want to win because that's what they do.

This should be the game day 48 and rotation.

Great job brother!

The two RB's.  I don't see us paying Cook, and I think both our other RB's can be damn good.

On offense, I will keep an eye on the offensive line.  Grable and SVPG in particular. The fact Grable passed up Vandemark before the injury when Vandemark has always looked solid in games shows some talent.

On defense, keeping an eye on Cole and Solomon.  I think both could be in line for significant playing time next year.

Cole Freaking Bishop

he's appeared 7 games on Defense with 321 snaps (3 games , he played every down).

I don't think he would count for this OP question, no?

Javon Solomon as he could replace Von next season and want to see if he can cause QB 3-4 pressures or a sack to show he can do the job.

Yeah, time for Solomon.

I'm hoping to see Grable get the start at LT for the entire game. He looked great in the preseason so I'd like to see where he's at. His physical traits with Kromer's coaching give me hope we may have hit the jackpot. I could see him being our starting LT in two years, Dawkins will be 32 and it might be a perfect time to move him to LG.

The Bills won't be messing with this oline in the summer. It has been the star of the team aside from Josh Allen in 2024 and all five guys are under contract for next season. They are running it back untouched IMO.

I agree, and I was someone who felt SVPG was going to be the eventual starter when he was drafted, likely next year.  I really like his potential still at center, but like you said, it is really hard to imagine they make any OL changes ahead of next year with how well its played this season.

Has McDermott or anyone actually said that Gore will be elevated?

Just my conjecture.  3 healthy Bills RBs will help with our Super Bowl run.  Bills reward hard workers with great attitude with game day promotions, and paychecks. Davidson,  Shavers, etc have already been promoted 3 times.  Frank Gore led his son to Bills, which says a lot.

GMFB brought up Von Miller's sack incentives.

If Von plays and gets 1 sack he makes another $1.5M over the $2.5M he has already secured with 5 sacks.

I wonder if he plays or sits.

I think that's called a "business decision"  Would equal his base salary for this year, and more than recover his suspension $

I believe you - NFL got it from somewhere - but if the Bulls had him at 232 on their roster and he weighed in for training camp at 232, ya gotta wonder if he ate a bunch of salty food, drank a bunch of water, and "clenched" or something before getting on the pro day scale.

So historically the Bills are pretty good about giving players the chance to reach their incentives.

On the other hand, given Von Miller's injury history and his 4 game suspension, well...."how about if we look at your playoff incentives, Von?"

It's a point.  I was assuming that Shavers would get called up, but as you point out he's already had his 3.

I think Davidson has only had 2 call ups, so they might go there

I have to imagine they want to sit Shakir, Cooper, Coleman, Knox and Kincaid for most of the game.
