How would he go into concussion protocol from handing the ball off once and then leaving?

referring to playoffs.  Not this game.  Since he is on the active roster for the playoffs, he won't count against roster if they list him as the "emergency 3rd QB" and then they can dress someone else.

I would like to see Mitch actually run an NFL offense out there.  Every time we put him out there, its hand off, hand off, screen pass, punt.  I never understand why we dont have him simulate anything.

Because we are usually up by 20+ when he comes in.

Saw Mitch has -11 yards rushing this year. Reggie Bush numbers

He leads the league in end of game kneel downs.

Who gets elevated?

Cine
Gore Jr
Gouriage

Clapp
Hardy

Hamler
Logue

Shavers and Virgil are both out of elevations

Probably Clapp and Gore Jr.

This way you can rest most of the oline and let Gore Jr get most of the reps.

But I thought that he would only be able to play if both other QB's were ruled out with injuries in that case? Clearly Allen wouldn't be out due to injury.

I believe the emergency QB can come in without the other two being injured, but once he comes in neither of the other two is eligible to return to the game. So if McD does decide to get White into the game and White himself gets hurt, he would need to plug in some other player (probably someone who played QB in college or at least high school) to finish out the game.

This does not seem to be correct:

"Q:  When is an Emergency Third Quarterback permitted to enter a game?
A: An Emergency Third Quarterback is permitted to enter a game only if the club's two active quarterbacks are unable to play either by disqualification or injury, including for example, if QB1 is unable to play and QB2 is being evaluated for an injury."

wait so White wouldn't need to be active on gameday in order to play  (God forbid this ever happens)

Yes he would.  Initially the owners approved a rule change to allow PS callups to be the emergency 3rd QB but this was seen as a way to stash players on the PS without paying them on game checks for being on the active roster so it was reverted prior to roster cut downs coming out of the pre-season.

100% agree. No idea why these coaches don't call real plays for the backups to get real game experience.  You can still be safe

Also, I don't think you really want to see Mitch. He's proven he is bad. Honestly hope he is awful this weekend and White looks good. I'd much rather have White in an emergency in the playoffs.

If he dresses he will be an emergency QB as Allen is getting the start.

For one snap or one series.

What he looked like for the Bears and Steelers or the fact that he got benched in favor of The Reindeer wasn't enough for you?

He would need to be active this Sunday in order to play, assuming Josh Allen is not disqualified or injured (AVERT!), but simply replaced by Trubisky.

If Trubisky is injured the NFL would expect them to put Josh back in the game if he's healthy.

Of course I guess they could make something up but I think that would be Very Bad Juju

But, White would be available as an emergency 3rd QB for playoff games without having to be active.

He's still on the team so I'm forced to have to believe in him.  I don't think it would hurt when he is in there for him to read a defense, switch the play, RPO, play action, etc.  Let him have some control.  Instead its awful rb power into the back of the line.

Only if the other two are disqualified.  They can't just be healthy and available but benched.

And yes, the QB that is replaced by the emergency QB can return to the game.  The rule gives specific examples, such as being evaluated for concussion but passing the evaluation; undergoing tests such as xray which are negative etc.
