I did the math using both draft pick value charts.

I will use the new Rich Hill trade value chart as my example since that is the new standard.

IF the difference between winning and losing makes the NE Patriots go from the 1st to the 5th pick the hypothetical results are as follows:

Going from the 1st to the 5th in EACH ROUND (Not just the 1st) equates to a Draft Value of 563 POINTS.

If you take every pick in the 15th position from Round 1 through Round 7 (Miami's position) the total Draft Value is 540 POINTS.

That is more than an entire team's draft, that is Picks 15, 47, 79, 116, 153, 191 and 231 in VALUE.

It is a big deal.

We can joke about the Pats today.  But older fans remember the Hershel Walker trade that loaded those Cowboys teams of '90s up.

I'm hoping the Bills lose this one, personally.  Maybe a loser thing to say, but I'd rather not see a division opponent get the kind of return that they'd likely get trading the #1 pick.

I don't want the Pats getting the #1 pick either, but at least there's not a superstar QB prospect this year. Nobody is giving up 3 1st rounders for Cam Ward or Shedeur Sanders. I could see maybe a team at #3 or #4 giving their first & 2 seconds to move a couple spots. Still a nice haul, but not like what Cleveland gave up for Watson.

Yeah, but we also remember the Eric Dickerson trade where the Rams whiffed on all the picks.

Winning this game or not isn't really important for the Bills unless you consider no Bills team in their history has won 14 games in a season. The best the Bills have ever done is 13-3. I agree with you about coming out of this game with no injuries as that is the most important thing for the Bills. After that I would like to see a win and get to 14-3 and have 2024 Bills as the only Bills team to win 14 games in a year.

The only reason the Bills have never won 14 games is that Marv was smart enough to save his players for the playoffs & lost the season finales in 1990 & 1991 after going 13-2 through 15 games.  Considering there is an extra game, Sunday is as meaningless as it gets.  I'll go with Marv's methodology.

I just checked and Joe Andreessen has played enough snaps to be graded by PFF and comes in at 38th of 183 linebackers they rank. Pretty cool.

Baylon Spector I have nothing against and want to do well but he comes in at 179th of 183.

Terrel Bernard 153rd of 183 LBs. Dorian Williams 110th of 183. Milano 149th of 183. If anyone was wondering how the rest of our LBs were graded. This feels about right to my gut - Bernard, Williams, and Milano have all been poor with Williams seemingly best.

Fair point. I am not saying play the starters as they should sit to get ready for the playoffs. Anyone who is dealing with any kind of injury will obviously sit. When the Bills backups are out there, I hope they can beat the Pats and get that 14th win. If they don't who cares. 14-3 or 13-4 #2 seed. It doesn't make a difference. Just get through this game with no injuries.

Just because NE may get a bunch of picks if they trade #1 doesn’t mean they will do anything with them.

Look at Miami, they had a crap load of picks after the Tunsil trade and how’d that turn out? They suck.

I’d like our backups to pound NE and embarrass them. Sweep the division. Make the statement that even our second string guys own you. F’n Pats*.

Interesting- Player vote for the toughest places to play^

Bills ranked 5th toughest overall, but 2nd for most hostile

They weren't voted 2nd for most hostile. The list is broken up into tiers and the Bills are in the second tier which they labeled "Hostile Environments".

Seattle and Minnesota being above the Bills and way above Pittsburgh is interesting

Must have been Niners and Packers players polled on those😆

Whoops sorry, you're correct. My mistake and I'll edit that

Bills released Morrow.

This has gotta be for Ngakoue right?

Then id imagine Morrow to the ps for linebacker depth.

Ps gets unlimited call ups in the postseason

Not likely, but maybe they're making room for Calais Campbell or another useful veteran who may be released after Sunday's games.

Curious what we do at LB in the offseason. Do they run it back or upgrade the position? With small DT’s who don’t rush the passer or stop the run consistently, you need to offset it with faster, physical LB’s. DT, LB and S need upgrades in the offseason IMO.

Maybe it's to elevate Mike White to regular roster to backup Trubisky, leaving room for two practice squad callups.

I'd love Campbell.  But, guessing this is for Mike White, Shavers or Eli Ankou

I strongly feel PFF only looks at solo tackles to grade linebackers.  No idea how to determine pass coverage unless you get an interception.  Imo it’s a corner and Qb tool.  The rest is wild.  Even the qb and cb are wonky.

To my unpracticed eye, Ankou seems to play well whenever he's in, better than Jefferson, Phillips, or Austin Johnson, so I'd like to see him play. But I believe callups are unlimited in the playoffs, so maybe we'll see him then if not Sunday. Same with Shavers.
