Who to bring up from PS this week?

Given they will rest some key starters, and they can only bring two up from the PS, who do you think they will bring up this last week? 

The two positions I think they need more than others:

1.  QB: bring White up to backup Trubisky, as I don't think you want JA going back in if Trubisky got hurt. 

2. WR: with only 5 on the 53, this is a strong possibility too, as you don't want Cooper and Shakir risking injury.  Hamler maybe?

 

That said, the person I'd like to see them bring up is Cine, as I'd like to see what he can do.

If you want him to play in the playoffs at all ?

Get him some honest reps. Let him call a few plays

I think Hamler might be the only WR who can be called up. Shavers has been called up twice. I'm pretty sure Virgil has been called up twice as well, in between his stint on the 53.

 

Samuel has been out for a couple weeks now and appears ready to go. So i'd expect him to be taking most of the snaps to get him back. Hollins and Coleman (who's also just getting back in the swing of things as well after injuries) will also probably get a lot of play.

 

White makes a lot of sense. But I think he's also been called up twice. So that might put us in a precarious situation where we have no choice but to put Allen back in if Trubisky gets hurt.

Our Safety core has been decimated with both starters injured at the same time. Kareem Jackson and Lewis Cine were both called up twice since Hyde's been brought in. If there's a Safety injured in the Playoffs, I really think you'll see one of them come in. If you read between the lines of things both McDermott and Hyde have said, it really doesn't seem like playing him was ever in the cards.

Cine's already been called up twice (same as Jackson). Hamlin needs to get play coming back from injury and Bishop needs more reps. So they'll go with Hamlin, Bishop, and Lewis at Safety.

Good catch, I thought Cine had been once. I might take a look at Hamler or Gouriage.

Hyde has been a "break glass in case of emergency" signing all along.  Good for the Bills if the DB's get decimated, good for Micah if he gets a ring out of being in the lockeroom.   He had a serious neck injury a couple years ago, they aren't exposing him in a meaningless game.

Mike White has also been elevated twice already as well (12/1 and 12/15). Kind of puzzling they didn't save one for Week 18. But it's going to have to be Josh back in just handing the ball off or an emergency QB if Trubisky goes down.

No reason to elevate White.  If Mitch goes down, we switch to wildcat/use a RB.

 

Our top elevations should be at RB and WR.

 

Whoever has eligibility at WR, Shavers perhaps.  And Gore.

 

Protect Cook/our trio.  Limit our rotation of top WRs.  And likely Samuel is out again.

On the third callup, they have to go on the fiddy tree, which would require a roster move.  So who do you want to cut to activate a PS player with two activations?

This sounds like Hyde is not playing for us this year at all. It sounds more like he is pretty much another DB coach.

I believe you can elevate a PS player up to 3 times in the regular season. The next time (#4) they would have to be added to the 53 man roster to make an appearance. Unlimited elevations during the post season.

Davidson was elevated three times and I don't believe he had to clear waivers to get back on the PS, but I'm not certain?

Gore to take a lot of carries. I want all three backs to be available for the playoffs.   And then Mike white.   You only get two.  The typical inactive guys will be active.   They only have 9 OL so at least one starter will have to play the whole game unless they use a call up there. Same is true on the DL...you will see the rotation guys still, just a different percentage of time.
