Just looking at the current standings it’s quite possible that there’ll be three out of the six wildcard games in which the home team has a worse record than the visitors. The NFL might wanna do something about that going forward.

We had two bad divisions this year. But it still pales in comparison to 2020-2021, when Washington won the NFC East at 7-9 and hosted a WC game.

Sunday 1pm now that it’s Denver?

so dumb that we have to wait until tonight when over 95% of the matchups will be set other than the nfc north (1 and 5 seeds)

From a NFL prospective what are the best time slots? Because outside the Chargers-Texans the Bills-Broncos is the worst matchup

Packers @ Eagles

Commanders @ Rams/Bucs

Vikings/Lions @ Rams/Bucs

Steelers @ Ravens

If that 3rd game is Lions @ Rams that probably is the most interesting game honestly.

disagree, I think it’s a pretty attractive matchup… star rookie QB taking on JA17 and the Bills in WNY with Bills Mafia full throat.

It's a blowout and if the Bills are up 17-0 early: people will turn it off. The main interest in that game will strictly be Josh Allen.

Bills/broncos sat early

Vikes/lions sat late

Chargers Texans Saturday first

Steelers/Ravens Sunday mid

Packers/Eagles Sunday late

Commanders/?? Monday

Putting the chargers on a Monday night with travel is not cool.

The Steelers Ravens into the packer eagles makes sense to pull audience into each other.

I think the NFL could put the bills/broncos early to draw viewers.

That's why Saturday early is important. Everyone tunes back in to bikes lions.

Apparently Monday has always been a 4 vs 5 matchup since they introduced it. So that is either Chargers @ Texans OR Vikes/Lions @ Rams. I believe the thinking is it helps logistical planning for divisional weekend. If both the 2 and the 3 have won at the weekend then the winner of 4/5 can only go to the #1 seed. If either 2 or 3 have lost then the winner of 4/5 can only go to whichever one of the 2/3 has won. If both the 2 and 3 have lost then the 6 can only go to the 4/5.

I would expect that to remain the approach. Packers @ Eagles and Steelers @ Ravens are the two prime time games, lock that in. Which leaves the remaining 4/5 game, the Broncos @ Bills and the Commanders @ Buccs as the three remaining.

Guys common sense here. Bills broncos game will not be Saturday and certainly won’t be early Saturday. Both would be on a short week and DEN would be on a very short week and flying across country.  Bills broncos will be at the earliest Sunday at 1, and probably Sunday 4

The fact the loser of tonight’s Lions/Vikings has to travel to either LA or Tampa makes me think the system needs revamped. I used to be against it, saying just win your division, but no way a 14-3 team should be on the road.

The setup is fine.  Winning the division should mean something otherwise why have them?

The loser tonight goes to LA next week.

They also need to get rid of the single team bye - such an unfair advantage - add another team

that will guarantee that we finish as the 3rd or 4th seed for the foreseeable future ;(

After listening to other posters and knowing that they lump the AFC and NFC matchups together so that the following week they can put all AFC games on Saturday and all NFC on Sunday.

This is what it wildcard weekend will be. I’d bet money on it:

Saturday Afternoon: 6 Steelers at 3 Ravens

Saturday night: 7 Broncos at 2 Bills

Sunday early: 5 Chargers at 4 Texans

Sunday Afternoon: 6 Commanders at 3 Bucs

Sunday night: 7 Packers at 2 Eagles

Monday night: 5 Vikings or Lions at 4 Rams

PIT BAL is not going to be the 4:30 SAT game. It will be SAT or SUN Night
