It was eclipsed when Allen threw the TD to Davis with 13 seconds left around 3 years ago. But that moment was fleeting.

That was our best shot at winning the whole thing.

IMHO - Our best shot at winning the whole thing since the 4 years in the 90's was when we led the Titans in Nashville 16-15 with 16 seconds left, and gave up an "alleged" Kickoff return lateral touchdown.  Wade Phillips' defense that season was nasty.  The Titans were a yard short in the Super Bowl, and the Bills outplayed the Titans that day, except for that play.

It was a lateral, not a forward pass.  Camera angle wasn't exactly straight on and made it look like a forward pass.  That said....

...I 100% agree that we had a great chance to win it all that year.  Warner and the Rams would have been tough, but I think we would have done better than TN because our defense was so good.  We should have been ready for the lateral.  History could have been different for us!

That was the best Bills defense of all time according to simple rating system by pro football reference. We were really good that year.

I’d love it if the Bills had that defense’s run stuffing ability right now.

That team has aged well in Bills fans' minds, and I'm not sure it's deserved. It was not a done deal that they would have beaten the Bengals in the next round.  That team wasn't great.  After losing in OT to Tampa Bay, they were 7-6.  They took brutal losses (Titans, Jags, Colts, Pats, and the opener to Pittsburgh).  Devin Singletary was the feature back.  Knox was the tight end.  Cody Ford, Star Lotulei,, Dane Jackson, and a washed Mario Addison were starters. Jerry Hughes was our other DE.  The player from that team I miss most is Emanuel Sanders.  But they weren't a juggernaut.  They were just on a heater to end the season.  And they had the same Achilles heal that this team has.  Good QB's can dice them.

I sure would have loved to find out.

It’s a bit wild to me that we just assume we could beat the best version the Bengals ever had.

I know I'm in a small minority here, but I was always glad for the players when the drought ended, but I never thought of that being a great Bills moment. I actually said good for them when they made it. Still feel the same disconnected way looking back.

Interesting, I remember being pretty emotional. Especially seeing the video of the players.

No, the fact that Wycheck threw it from the 29 and Dyson caught it past the 30 yard line made it look like a forward pass.

Agreed. It was a nice moment at the time, but this is a franchise that won four consecutive AFC Championships. Seeing everyone celebrate like we won the Super Bowl after finally lucking into a playoff berth at 9-7 felt a tad pathetic, if I'm being honest. I can understand, though, that it had to have been a seismic moment for Bills fans who were born after 1995.

Made it look like it, but it wasn't.  Matters where the ball was when it was thrown, not the player.  The ball was thrown slightly backwards, so unfortunately a legal pass and hence a good no call from the ref

I'm with you guys.  I know I'm in the minority as well so I don't post about it but the moment felt a bit anti-climatic to me.  During the drought years I always envisioned a big home game celebration like the tearing down of the goalposts in 88(probably not literally tearing down the goalposts because of how strict modern times are..but at least talk about doing it lol) but it was so weird backing into the playoffs off the result of another game.  It would have been incredible if it was the Josh Allen team finally breaking the drought but I can't complain, what we have been treated to is amazing.  I was in Pittsburgh in 2019 for SNF when we beat the Steelers to clinch our playoff birth and that was amazing and I think for me personally that stands out more than breaking the drought by watching a Bengals win.  With that said I certainly understand the enormity of breaking the playoff drought and why it was so exciting for everyone.  And certainly was happy for players like Eric Wood and Kyle Williams.

Just wanted to add this video to the pile.

Not gonna lie, I got pretty choked up watching it.

Bills fans are just...different.
