They count the same but the weight and significances are not the same. Neither Buffalo nor Baltimore are those teams. This season is as good as any for Buffalo to win it. Allen playing his best is always Buffalos best chance. The level he can reach is not matched by any current qb imo. My point exactly. Did my post come off differently? That's what I meant about Ravens fans hanging on to that Week 4 win like it was a playoff game. It's also a major argument for them in mvp debates. Week 4 means absolutely nothing at this stage, it's a win, nothing more. 1 Quote

To me, this is the key stat that makes Josh Allen MVP!! Those two wins are directly attributed to JA, and if beating the so called two best teams in the league isn't enough for MVP, I don't know what would be. Go Bills!!! Lions offense is amazing but their defense is really really bad. Lions fans have to have the same concerns about defense that we have with Buffalo - only worse Quote

Buffalo seems to be getting people back at the right time. Milano is beginning to look like himself. That will have as large an impact as anything. Hyde being available if needed will be large too. I think Mcdermott has the most flexibility in personal he has ever had on defense. 4-3, Nickel, Dime. I want to see him get in his bag this post season and push the team over the top. Quote

Both Ds have been decimated by injury. I saw a better defensive game vs. the 49ers than I expected because apparently the Lions got a couple of guys back. Quote

They have better depth now. They are more multiple as well. At full strength they can play for scheme and team specific than making work what ya got. Quote

The difference in the game were a pair of bad INT’s from Brock Purdy and no turnovers from Detroit Quote

I would swap the entire healthy D of Buffalo for a healthy Lions D roster in a second. Quote

Yes, but it will take an absolutely perfect run and our best football because there are more talented teams. But I will forever believe we have the best QB on the planet and that he can overcome some of that lack of talent. But, it's going to take every player on offense, and especially defense, to play their best football in the postseason. It will also take the head coach and his staff finally making the correct decisions in crucial moments to win as well. That is the key but I'm not confident they can for 4 games in a row. At least at this point, our D does not have significant injuries. But we'll see after 1 or 2 games if that's still the case. Edited December 31, 2024 by PoundingDog Quote

I dont know... just an eyeball on it seems like the Vikings are actually starting to peak now... the Lions seem like they are a bit plateaued albiet at a Super Bowl level... I would not have given the Vikings a chance in this game realistically 4 or 5 weeks ago but I am now... thats the best I got for you just my impression. 4 minutes ago, Mr. WEO said: regressing in what way? they've lost 1 game since week 2. they are scoring at will even their banged up D isn't slowing them down much. this will be the game of the season in week 18... the Lions D has been affected by injury more than the Bills--mainly because the players they are missing are better than the players out for the Bills. Can't say it's the one deciding stat but surely it's a talking point. Too many to list. The rebuttal to that is 11-5 and took until week 17 to move into first place and mainly due to a late season collapse by Steelers. Until around 3 weeks ago, the Steelers were in a pretty good position to get the 2 seed over Buffalo. Could give them a good shot and say, "yeah but it's rare that a running back wins the MVP!" Quote

I’m just saying that Lions fans might be in the same boat as us. They have an excellent offense and a defense that has trouble stopping offenses unless they get turnovers. Quote

I don't know if the Bills D is that talented even when they are healthy, at least in measurement of superbowl caliber. The amount of big plays given up (10+ yards) is an indicator, and that is regardless good or bad teams. If I'm McDermott/Babich, I would have to have 2 plans at hand. If the normal sound bent/don't break defense is not working, just go for broke looking for big plays. If they score, they score. Quote
