I think that Kyle Shanahan and John Lynch do a good job and they have some good, young talent.

 

But yes, many of their foundational players are pretty old and they have to replace a bunch of parts.

 

Their season was basically a "voyage of the damned" with tons of bad injury luck.

Aikman played behind one of the best O lines surrounded by the best receivers, RB and TE.   Would he have been "great" playing with less?

Lions playing starters and running trick plays in a meaningless game is a very Dan Campbell thing to do. Lions are fun but I can't help but think they are blowing their load in the regular season and it's going to end up biting them.

Imagine in a season where not only Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson are having the seasons they are, but Saquon Barkley and Jared Goff are having MVP type seasons. All on teams with outstanding playoff records for divisional champs and Super Bowl contenders. And, you go national TV as Aikman did and announce MVP support  for the guy who's 8-8 because you like guys stats and style. SMDFH
