The Lions' defense is going to cost them the #1 seed at this rate.

When you're playing backups or 3rd string vs starters, it does make a difference.  When there are enough of the starters down, the defense drops off.

I like that the niners aren't lying down

They're playing for the number one seed. The Vikings are up a game on them

Walk me through it.  The Vikes are 14-2.  If the Lions lose tonight, they'll be 13-3.

Next week, when the Lions play the Vikes, if the Lions win they'll be 14-3, and the Vikes will be 14-3 - but the Lions would own the tiebreaker.

So if they lose tonight, they still have a chance at the #1 seed next week.

If they win tonight, then they still need to beat the Vikes next week because if the Vikes win they'll be 15-2.

Lions playing starters and running trick plays in a meaningless game is a very Dan Campbell thing to do. Lions are fun but I can't help but think they are blowing their load in the regular season and it's going to end up biting them.

I think it's some combination of steroids, testosterone, and nicotine.

Campbell's gonna go through some serious withdrawal when he quits dipping. Someday soon he won't be able to "bite any kneecaps" because he won't have any teeth left.

I hate Detroits uniforms

The oddest thing about their unis is that the official color is "Honolulu Blue."

In what bizarre universe does the flagship of rustbelt cities have a tropical color?

LaPorta is a great player.

I see a few complaints about the lack of defense but I'm really enjoying the game.

Yes, the defenses aren't great but this is really good offensive play and the intensity is very high.

The Niners are not interested in laying down on national TV.

It's quite the fight.

Agreed. Usually I do like some defence, but once in a while it's fun to watch a good ole shoot out.

Definitely would take this over the bears/Seahawks game last Thursday haha

And caffeine. Campbell drinks enough coffee each day to kill a small horse.

I dont think the Lions are going this year. Too much loss on defense. They will run into a team that can hold Detroits score down. Goff is having a great season but he isn't a superman QB. I dont think he will play well under pressure or off schedule like the other QBs in the league can. I think its either Vikes or Philly.

The interesting thing is that while the NFC has some really excellent teams (Philly, Minnesota, Green Bay, Detroit), all the truly great QBs are in the AFC.

The Bills original colors copied Detroit's because Ralph had been a minority owner of the Lions. Fortunately they only used them for i think one season?

Just turned this game on.

is that Jared Goff?

What the ***** is that missing link Campbell trying to prove? This game is 100% meaningless for both teams.

It is idiotic. Zero to gain by winning this game, and all the starters are still in.
