Josh getting injured on one handoff to keep a silly record alive (silly because he’ll literally play one down just to keep it alive) would be the billsiest thing of all time.

Sounds more Jetsiest...

If anyone really thought Josh wasn’t going to start and get a few plays, if not a full series, just admit you started watching football 6 months ago.   No way he’s going to just give up his consecutive start streak.

you also don’t want him starting behind the 2nd and 3rd string. This is even where he is just handing off.

All of Allen’s plays will be with the first team OL and receivers.  Anything else is crazy.

If you love Allen, then you should respect his desire to keep his streak alive. The men in the locker room clearly respect his desire to keep this thing going.

Maybe take a second to understand his reasoning for it instead of putting your negative spin on it?

I did take a second. Look, he's our hero, but that doesn't necessarily mean he's not human with human flaws, nor does it mean that as an admirer I need to admire everything he does and says. Of course his teammates support his goal. I would, too, out of respect and admiration for him, not necessarily because it's a noble goal. Yes, maybe the streak means something to him that I know nothing about--a promise to his grandmother or something--but I suspect it's an ego thing. It's fine: trivial, not a big deal, and very easy to shrug off, even be fond of, maybe. But I am mildly surprised that Superman is human.

Like you have any clue about the locker room

And you do?

You sneer at the poster without addressing his arguments. Got to work on your game, oldmanfan.

Its a LEADER ship Thang.

Gosh finn , why the debate ?

He's played injured most of his career as they all do to varying degrees

What ? Do you think the Patriots will " sweep the Leg " on him 😋

Naw they are going to respect the situation. Mayo and McD have already discussed this plan as Gentlemen do

That's why I don't love this.  This game means nothing - I'd love to see all of the top guys have a week off.

But they'll all have to play as long as Allen does.  Hopefully just a few handoffs to get the start.

Word is the Pats may be starting a different rookie QB.

I know a lot of TSW was keyed in on Milton in maybe the 6th round. I'd love to see the kid get a game.

Bills by position group (alphabetically, + practice squad, not including specialists):

Centers (2+1)

CBs (5+2)

DEs (4+2)

DTs (6+1)

FB (1+0)

G (2+1)

LBs (6+0)

QBs (2+1)

RBs (3+1)

S (4+3)

OTs (5+1)

TEs (3+1)

WRs (5+3)

The following players would be candidates to be elevated: Will (Mc)Clapp, Frank Gore, Mike White, Zach Davidson, Casey Toohill, Shavers and/or Hamler, and possibly Kareem Jackson, Micah Hyde, or Lewis Cine.

But keep in mind that teams are restricted to only 2 Practice Squad call ups each week.

Because of these numbers don't be surprised to see O'Cyrus Torrence and David Edwards, Ty Johnson and Ray Davis, Taylor Rapp and Cole Bishop, Quintin Morris, and our wide receivers playing until the 4th quarter.

Some people see NOT having kids as a selfish or anti-social decision, or maybe childless adults haven't yet learned empathy or how to root for someone else's success? I don't think one needs to suffer from parenthood to possess basic empathy, but I am aware that others do.

Having a daughter is not why I support Allen, McDermott, and the team's decision to let him continue the streak. I support it because it's obviously important to Allen, and the rest of the org obviously supports him. Only a tone deaf coach would override that sentiment and intentionally disrupt the streak. Recipe for locker room unrest.

Still not following the kid analogy - but I am an old (44) first time dad with an 11 month old so my brain is at like 32.6% at all times.

But you were eloquent in the second paragraph and actually changed my mind. Let him play, but for one snap! 🙂

Why?  I think Allen can play with backup OL and backup WRs.

What's the rule?  One snap?

It's gonna be at < 10% when you're 60 and teen is only 16! 😆

Allen and the starting Bills offense (healthy players only) should play one to two series (a total of 10 - 15 mostly scripted plays) which would match what they do in one of the preseason games.  It's important for an offense to stay sharp on it's timing.  There is also a real benefit to the starters of practicing for a purpose the entire week.  Keeping the practice routine constant is real important at this time of the year.

Of course anyone dinged up doesn't play.  There are a lot of HOF and soon to be HOF coaches that believed in playing their starters even longer then this in end of the season "meaningless" games.  They would argue that the risk of suffering negative effects from playing the starters is not as great as the risk of not playing them.
