No way. Let's sign Matt Lienert and Vince Young for this game.

 

I love at one point this team has Lienert, Reggie Bush, Mario Williams, Donte Whitner ... 4 picks from the top 8 in 2006.

 

We also had Vince Young and Matt Barkley on the team together right after.

Is it possible that in a draft year with questionable ELITE QB prospects, maybe the #2 pick is more easily moved or moved for similar value to what they'd get for the 1? Might not be terrible at all to have the #2 pick in 2025 draft, especially if you don't need a QB and/or are fine with trading back. Only takes one organization to fall in love with a QB prospect and want to move up aggressively to secure him, but maybe that's just not the smart play in 2025, and therefore the #1 pick becomes kind of an overvalued asset that you might as well use in the 1st round to nab an o-lineman or a pass rusher or something. 

 

Now, that #1 pick in the SECOND ROUND is pretty dang valuable these days, so that could be a movable feast...

Yeah but at the same time it seems like it would be good for him to get some live snaps.  I see a preseason type of game where Josh starts Mitch takes it to HT and white plays the second half.

That doesn't actually happen. You draft a bunch of players who bust. You draft a couple who might be starters. And you get a handful of depth players. Bad teams don't draft and develop well.

Patriots have $132M in cap space AND will get all those high picks.

They are looking good.

It will be interesting to see if any team is all that interested in Ward, who wasn't considered an elite QB prospect anyway and then made a major mistake sitting out the 2nd half of his bowl game, or Sanders and the baggage he brings with his father, enough to trade up with the Patriots.  I don't see it.

The Bills will start Josh Allen, to keep his continuous start streak alive...I believe he has 113 straight starts.  I believe they did the same a few years ago against the Jets...where he started and played the first series before giving way to the backup.

You can still play to win. God forbid something happens to Josh in the playoffs, it would be good to have Trubisky have some live reps before the post season.

I mean it's smart...the Giants just screwed themselves over with an offensive explosion for no reason to win a game that pushed them down from #1 overall to #4 overall.

 

Patriots would be fools to win this game. They have no need to draft a QB and could trade the #1 pick for a massive haul(maybe to the Giants) that will accelerate their rebuild by infusing a lot of young talent around Maye.
