HomeskillitMoorman Posted December 30, 2024 Posted December 30, 2024 They're obviously not hiring Rivera. But Woody loves Rex...I honestly wouldn't take that off the table of being a realistic hire 1 Quote

Pats QB is dangerously skilled. He may be skilled, but there is virtually no team around him, the coaches are bad, and even with a QB with “potential” they are starting at pretty much zero, jmo. Jeff Bezos has expressed interest in buying the team, which the league would be drooling to get a N.Y. owner worth $237.5 bil. The only other NFL family with $ like that is the Walton family in Denver. Look what they did. Hire Sean Payton, one of the best coaches over the last 15 years, give him the freedom to make hard decisions like Russel Wilson, and watch a quick turnaround. Any of the top flight coaches with lots of experience like a Jim Harbaugh (another quick turnaround team) and decision making powers of a GM and assistants with solid compensation is the way out for the Jets. Now, I’d rather not that have that happen as we’d have competition in a few years, so a Wrex hire would be great. This isn't Woody's first rodeo. He has been in this spot multiple times the last 10 years. He hasn't gotten it right yet, no matter whom he's tossed that $$$ at. They haven't had any success in 14 years. That $$$ can't save him or the Jets. Also, the Chargers weren't a bad team. They were just an injured and underachieving one. They made the Playoffs just a couple of seasons ago, but choked against Jacksonville. They also rolled with Staley too long, but lucked up into getting Harbaugh after he brought the Championship home to Michigan (and there were some possible penalties on the horizon). Quote

Absolutely correct. And Rex may be the exact opposite of Ron. It's crazy how important coaching is in the nfl. Jets had a good roster. If they had a good coach/culture they would have been MUCH better imo. Quote
D. L. Hot-Flamethrower Posted December 30, 2024 Posted December 30, 2024 The Jets I hope, and will likely, mess it up. Quote

You just know that he would guarantee a SB win in his first season, during his introductory press conference, then go on to win 4 games. He'd probably require that the Jets overdraft his showboat sons too Quote

Another Fan Posted December 30, 2024 Posted December 30, 2024 The Jets are so bad Rex is probably the only coach who relish taking that job. From a Jets fans perspective it’s not as crazy as it sounds Quote
Chicharito Posted December 30, 2024 Posted December 30, 2024 From the sounds of it the New Jersey Jets will “leave no stone unturned “ 😂😂😂😂😂 Quote

I wonder if Vrabel would even want to go to New York though He probably knows he only has one more chance at being a head coach, and going to the jets is just a recipe to fail I would think Chicago would be a better spot for Vrabel. 1 Quote
