Who do you want in round 1?

If the Broncos win against the Chiefs - they're in. The Chiefs are resting Mahomes and a number of their starters, so it's very possible.

 

Even if the Broncos lose - if the Dolphins beat the Jets, they're in. And the Jets are a broken team. They're in pack it in and go home mode. I don't see the Dolphins with their season on the line losing to the hapless Jets.

 

And even if the Broncos lose to the Chiefs backups AND the Dolphins lose to the Jets - the Bengals still have to beat the Steelers who will not be resting their starters.

It looks like a tough road, but the ultimate get right chip would be the above and then mashing Philly in the bowl.  I suppose cinci sneaking in and us beating them first would be the ultimate revenge tour, but I just don't see Denver losing to the KC b team

honestly, you might be right, but i think we need a gauntlet.  there is an element of this team playing soft after easy wins.  the jets game was an easy win, but it wasn't smooth to start with, and the new england game was an embarrassment.

That Denver game will be something.  I can see if Wentz and KC go up 7-0 early the Broncos are going to be puckered up for sure.

 

Even if Denver chokes I honestly cannot see Miami losing to the NYJ.  I'm assuming Tua would be back this week.  Of course I'd rather play Miami at home than Cincinnati, but i hate having to beat the same team 3 times.  You just never know.  Maybe Miami would ultimately be the better draw than a dangerous Denver team.

I will say that of all the scenarios re the Bengals being eliminated, the one I am most confident in is the Steelers beating them. Steelers are on a 3-game losing streak. They are desperate for a get-right win.

 

But otherwise I have little faith in the dolphins without Tua and this backups-trap game between KC/Den scares me.

If it's cause revenge, fair, even though I would disagree as I always will pick the easier matchup.

Totally. The Steelers do NOT want to be an on 0-4 run going into the playoffs, and since they haven't won a playoff game in forever (four first-round exits since 2017), no team is more acutely aware of the need to play a reeling Houston team as opposed to a smoking hot Ravens team (who will likely steamroll them) if they want to have  a chance at winning a playoff game.

 

I expect them to go all out in this game -- balls to the wall.

We say we don't want to Bengals but it's the Chargers we don't want - but thankfully can't face in the first round.

The Chargers don't worry me at all. I've seen some of their games, they are good but nothing special and we aren't playing them in the first round but if we were, it would be a west coast, warm weather team with a dome coming to the east coast playing in the cold and possibly snow. Not sure why that would scare people

Correct.  At Jets.  Current forecast is mostly sunny and 35.

they are insane. Burrow is the hottest and most confident player in football right now

 

Chase and Higgins would destroy this team like Kupp and Nacua did. Plus they have the TE from Miami who plays well against us. The matchup is awful for us IMO

Well ..the Bengals are 3-0 all time vs Bills on the playoffs. That's not what the hand wringing is though, it's they whipped our but in 22 & we're about to on the Hamlin game.

 

I'm a believer in bring on all the demons, Bengals, Ravens, Chiefs. Unfortunately the Cowboys won't make the playoffs, so bring on the Eagles!

 

Think about if Josh doesn't win MVP he can exercise all the candidates in about 6 weeks + the biggest demon.
