Simon Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 Will it satisfy the start streak if he opens the game at LT so we can rest Dawkins? Quote

julian Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 This is a no brainer, starters play one series and done. 1 Quote

I’m with many, let him hand off three times and pull him. Besides, these second stringers will benefit from more playing time. Let guys like Anderson, Bishop, Davis, and so on get more playing time. We can’t rest all of our O line, so some will start but the back five will get the bulk of the show. 1 Quote
BillytheKid Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 I don’t think any of the starters will play next week other than Josh taking one snap and anyone else that they have to have play. Otherwise all the starters will be on the bench with their regular clothes on. Josh has his uniform on for one play then goes to the locker room changes clothes and chills. 1 Quote
H2o Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 Start, one hand-off to Davis, back to the bench. Quote
TheyCallMeAndy Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 He needs 2 TD passes to hit 30, and Cook needs around 40 yards to break 1000. My bet is they let him play 2 series. Quote

BUT…they can do that and still let Josh start, hand it off a few times to keep his Ironman streak alive. I would do that… and try to get Cook his yards to get him to 1000. The only caveat to not giving the starters the week off would be.. do you do some light practices with plays for the playoffs? And essentially give the Pats game zero thought or prep. Quote
zow2 Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 Unless he is coming in for one play to hand off then no, he should sit. He should not play a series at all. Makes no sense whatsoever. Quote

Nelius Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 Was wondering if Judon was still there when thinking of potential sbags that might take a shot. Would be ok with something super simple and gimmicky - handoff and out - but otherwise bubble wrap. Quote
ChrisWatson#21 Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 A first down screen pass and we are out of there. Get it done Beane🤪 Quote
stevewin Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 Actually playing even just a series also can have advantage of staying in normal game day routine as part of prep for the next week Quote
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 I think they will let Allen start, play one series and hand the ball off a few times. The only downside I do see is likely they start Mitch, what if he were to get hurt, they'd then have to bring Josh back in, believe in Q4 you can play your 3rd QB who's not officially part of the active roster?? (that rule has changed so many times not certain what it is these days) Would they make the 3rd string QB active just to be safe and short change a roster spot someplace else, maybe Cook sits? Quote
